FO4 Downgrade or Patience + old mods question

Hey there.

It's been 4 years since I played & used mods in FO4.

It looks like the downgrade-mods are already outdated due to yet another update. Would it be better to just wait a bit for F4SE to get updated, along with most mods?

Also, I played with AWSKR and Armoursmith extended, because those allowed me to use Ballistic Weave in all outfits, including mod-added ones. But they seem badly outdated. Are there alternatives?

I'm assuming that many mod authors are no longer active or don't feel like updating their "Fallout 4" mods

Ooohh! don't say that.. what if it becomes true? but, making an updated/new mod is not something you throw together on a single day. F4SE took nearly two or was it three weeks to update. all we can do is wait and hope they will be updated or that someone takes upon themself to make one.. tho seeking permission to fiddle with someone elses mod if said modifier has quit and now lives a quiet life in the countryside ...is anybodys guess. 😛

IF, you have the next gen update, roll back manually, second sticky post. Or use a downgrader, or this one, then block Steam updates. Which works great btw.

The Bugthesda update did not provide anything worth the hassle of updating... Just downgrade and have fun.

From what I've been reading, the only problem is Buffout not being updated to the new version. The rest of the major F4SE mods seem to have been updated/working fine, no?

There are a lot of mods that have not updated and probably wont until Bugthesda stops introducing more broken and buggy shite.

As for working fine... well Bugthesda made the game unstable and broke more than just mods. Soo I guess according to Bugthesda's standards "Its perfectly stable and bug free".

The Simple Downgrader didn't work for me. It left my Main Menu without any words. The mod's comment thread is closed, so off to try the other methods.

I use VividFallout.

To answer my own question at the start of this topic: the Downgrader works.

There are a bunch on Nexus that are far better the the dlc. You'll just have to browse & find/try the ones you like.. or might like.

Just remember, anything Bugthesda puts out, for PC, the community has already done better, or will properly fix their mess. So the NG update really doesn't offer anything of worth, unless you like extra broken shite. LOL

AWKCR and Armoursmith extended are beyond obsolete. They have been replaced by much better mods (ECO, for example) which allows for the same options.

 

They were an important part of F04's history, but they have severe problems now that means they should be avoided for a stable gaming experience. Put it this way, almost all mods released today, related to these dinosaurs, are patches that remove them from old mods.
