Phantom Save Corruption?

Alright-- to be very concise: I am encountering save file corruption when using Sexlab.

Let me run through the symptoms/fixes I've attempted.

 

- Save corruption occurs upon booting up a save from the menus, loading another save in-game, or having Skyrim automatically load in a save after death.

 

- The saves go through the load screen then close as soon as the game would presumably load in.

 

- My Papyrus logs are empty.  There are no errors when this occurs.

 

- I do not uninstall mods without starting a new game.  I am fully cognizant of how scripting works in Skyrim.

 

- I utilize several plugins with Sexlab.  The frequency of these corruptions increase when using large additions, such as Sanquine's Debauchery.  They also occur without any exterior plugins.

 

- These are not always blanket corruptions.  Sometimes all my saves suddenly fail to load, sometimes only the newest two or three, sometimes random saves corrupt.

 

- These save corruptions occur in very lightly used games.  I frequently create new characters to test new mods, or whatnot, and they can corrupt as well.

 

I looked through the forums here, and the FAQs and saw nothing similar.  Its rather annoying, primarily because I cannot know for sure when I may lose an entire character to a full set of corruptions.  Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Are you sure that your saves are actually corrupting? It's a known Skyrim issue that loading heavily-modded saves can crash. Try loading an old save in a very minimalistic area (The prison in Alternate Start: Live another life is great for this), wait a few seconds, and then proceed to load the save in question.

Save corruption comes with a very explicit warning from the game when your try to load a game and it wont let you clearly stating the save is corrupted, non less. That's not save corruption, thats just the thecnologically speaking 20years old Skyrim for you, not being able to handle several things at the same time (ie high res textures + several scripted mods for example, you have to chose). There are, however, certain SexLab plugins like Sexlab Defeat which are kinda bugged and causes lots of bloating issues in your saves, but generally speaking, sexlab and its plugins arent culprit by themselves.

 

I'd be very worry if my papyrus log was empty or free of errors, when even in a untouched vanilla 'healthy' skyrim you need to have errors in your logs from all the unused registrations Bethesda left behind and there's no way to get rid of them (other than cleaning invalid registrations via skse.ini, something that never worked for me personally...)

 

Of course, we can help you to get a more stable experience but you have to choices, delete at once all sexlab plugin in your skyrim if you find this is what is causing your game so the unstability, or give us your loadorder with your complete list of mods and other necessary informaiton about your modding procedures in order to see possible source of unstabilities other than sexlab and how you can get a more stable experience using sexlab mods.
