This part is a question for Dorian. Thought about a minor change of renaming Reroll Glut to Reroll Slut, but, haven't really put much thought into names beyond that. Might be able to get creative with it if I tried, but, not high on my priority list yet.

This part is something I also quite enjoy the idea of, but, it's pretty hard to implement - They're done through fragment shaders, written in GLSL, a programming language specific to shaders - I don't have any prior knowledge when it comes to shaders, and I'm terrible when it comes to colors, and trying to make any shape that isn't a polygon, so even if I did learn how to write in GLSL, it probably wouldn't turn out ideal.

 

I'd be able to throw it in if someone was able to make the shader files, but, it's out of my skillset to create them. I might try it later on, but that'd be months later on, most likely.

 

Current name ideas, which I'll pack with the next update probably, is Oiled for Foil, Lubed Up for Negative, and Dorian also mentioned the tattoo for editions, with the name Cursemarked for Polychrome, which I'll probably go with, Still leaves holographic. Could maybe be cum stained or something. Stained by itself doesn't really imply anything lewd.

I'll also be throwing in some hand name changes, I think, but, I'll probably have them disabled by default, or at least the ones that might be a tad more confusing.

I will say that there's a post that I think is on the first page - Bunch of joker ideas, but, there's still several I couldn't come up with anything for, Dorian might have some ideas, but, throwing some more options out for jokers couldn't hurt either, especially the ones without an easy concept - How do you make Fibonacci lewd? That kind of thing.

 

And, one other thing, if you stick with 0.9.8 for now, there's several extra downloads, since I kind of just created separate versions of everything as different mods earlier, which if you download and try, you can see some of the text changes made. I've cleaned it all up for the 1.0.0 version, but still haven't ported every single thing into it - I had oiled and lubed up changed before, but, haven't done it in 1.0.0 just yet. There's a few other cases, but, I'll get around to them. Mentioned it in the post, but, this was probably the last time I'll touch the 0.9.8 version, 1.0.0 is basically as simple as 0.9.8, just that you download the source code and use that instead of the releases. They're also structured completely differently, so no reason to put in the work to update what feels like two separate mods when one version is going to become depreciated rather soon.

the issue with editions is they aren't image overlays, they're shaders, and apparently based on programming rather than art. ah didn't see my guy already replied lol @Someone23832 actually, is there any way we could scrap or ignore the vanilla system and implement image overlays instead?

I think planets could be worked as specific fetishes or something - Honestly, the designs don't really have any direct correlation with the hand types. The most is things like Eris being a  planet in another solar system, and flush five being impossible with the deck at the start and needing to expand outward. Neptune doesn't have any direct correlation with Straight Flushes, though. It's basically free reign, in my opinion. And, I can make it toggleable - The people that find it slightly too absurd can simply turn it off, and the people that don't can keep it on.

 

For image overlays - I think learning shaders would be the less complex of the two. Modifying that would require a major source code rewrite, which, can be done with lovely, but, I don't think I'm smart enough, and lovely has much less debugging support, so it'd be quite hard to mess around with only a vague idea of what I'm doing, which is kind of how I've been going so far.

ho jeez, I didn't realize those were so complicated! No wonder nobody else has done mods for them yet.

Given how little the planet connect to the associated hands, aside from Mars being 4oaK (fourth planet) and Earth being the Full House (it's where we live), and Planet X being a theoretical planet, the way a 5oaK is theoretical but not in the basic deck, but otherwise we could do a lot of things...

oh, yeah, there yah go. But possible ideas could be Kama Sutra positions, different Fetishes, different Toy types, or even just planet themed hot people. I'm still a little sad that the Sun only appears as a Tarot card, cuz the jokes would write themselves if it also appeared as a 'planet'.

Hasn't been updated in a while, it was my original way of contributing to the project, but, since I had the idea to do more complex things with the code, and change names, descriptions, and so on, I've left it behind.

Here's the list from that, with a few removed that have been figured out - some of them do have ideas in my list, but, ones that I wasn't really satisfied with. I see where you're going, had similar thoughts, what came to me first was something architecture myself, but, the main problem with the dryad is that it's simply too far of a stretch. It doesn't keep the original feeling of the fibonacci joker - A joker, that's called Natural Instinct, and has a dryad - how in the world does that relate to the numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, and 8? Why +8 mult specifically? Keeping it as Fibonacci explains those numbers - it's the fibonacci sequence. I enjoy the idea of a alarune/dryad, sure, but, it'd fit other cards better, though still not ideally - A replacement for Flower Pot is my first thought, doesn't have any connection to having multiple suits, though, and possibly the green joker, since the color doesn't have much to do with the ability.

Body writing, which, is how I'd consider doing the second one, it's fine, but, I feel like it's the backup option - If you also can't do something different for Brainstorm, Hallucination, Certificate, for example, and you have multiple cards that are just body writing it could become redundant and non-unique. It's a good idea for one card, not a good idea to reuse for 3 different cards which don't follow the same basic theme, like how the Xmult, or common chips and mult jokers, all have the same exact theme. Dorian might be able to mix them up between having girls in different positions, though, so could still work.

 

Also, to be completely fair: I gave you one of the hardest ones that I've been stuck on and considered several times as a first example. I've also taken all the easy ones already, but I do recommend still maybe going through and suggesting alternate suggestions to what I already have - Just two things, which is one, check if they've already been changed, and two, there's several sketches on the substar that haven't been put in - Other than what's been changed in the most recent update, there's also:

- Joker based ahegao print background. It *is* about seeing faces everywhere, after all.

- Banana split going places (I'm talking about foodplay. Probably between tits but could be going south, too)

- A pair of the same Joker superimposed atop itself in both the right side up and upside down states, leaving mouth at vaginal level for both, or leaving the breasts at the same level for both (whichever looks better when the artist does it)

- Midas Touching; a Joker being 'petrified' into a gold statue (I've seen that kink show up more often than I'd ever thought it would)

- Joker with pasties made from the Gold Seal design and giving a thumbs-up

- This one works better for an Alraune or Dryad design, now that I see it. But potted, obviously.

- A Joker holding her head and having dirty thoughts visible above it (because a brainstorm is having a lot of thoughts)

- Queen style Joker with Jokers to either side (she wants a harem of other Queens)

 

 

Hope the ideas help and/or work perfectly ^^ I don't have replacer names, but I'd also prefer to keep the original names in my own gaming, because I've played long enough with the original art/names but still not unlocked everything that I want to have either the same art or the same name to be able to identify things.

Already in. Unfortunately, I still haven't figured out the UI to have it available in-game,  but if you open up the balustro.lua file, there's toggles at the top right under the initial header section that you can set to 1 or 0 for basically everything.

Did a horny jokers/harlots only challenge on white stake black deck. Got to ante 12 with a pretty solid queen gangbang build, higher antes would be very difficult since the only horny joker with exponential potential is Bloodstone/Vibrators, but building for it is hard if you can't take Oops! All 6s or any retrigger jokers. Love the mod, keep up the great work!

 

Also, the other mod I'm using to change the card faces, arcana cards, and spectral cards is Hentai Cards.

Ongoing, though at a slower pace. Few more spectral cards soon to be released once I actually figure out how to use UI code and make an options page. Ideally that'll be in a few days, at worst by the end of the week. Some more jokers may or may not be included with that update, depends on a few things.

 

I wouldn't be against a few more people actively helping in the development either writing or art-wise, and I don't think the other two would be against having a smaller load of work, but we're just three people that enjoy Balatro and are putting our spare time towards this mod when we can.
