Archon459 Posted March 23, 2024 Posted March 23, 2024 (edited) I got the idea for a proper brothel mod while browsing NexusMods, and specifically after I found this mod: Simple Property Investment. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/39259 Lets you purchase a given property in the game and generate an income off of it. Property prices are fixed, and are lower or higher depending on where exactly it is located. The % return on investment is configurable, too. My idea for this mod is twofold: 1. Build on the existing functionality, but have the option to permanently convert Inns to brothels, with sex being allowed anywhere in the interior. Maybe/maybe not change the layout. 2. Be able to adjust the profit of this building not only through the given stats/options in the picture, but also specifically by how many girls you have working there. There's a maximum number - I feel this should be fixed - that will contribute to the brothel's income. If you previously sold slaves to this inn, those slaves become your property and are added to this total. If the number of slaves exceeds the total that you are allowed then you still own these slaves and can add more, but they will not increase the income of the property. There are other perks to having girls work this way outside of this mod idea, like raising their stats, or just giving you a place to store slaves. 3. Exception to the "slave not increasing income" bit is the Home Sweet Home brothel function that lets you run a brothel while you're actually inside of the building. You can bring any number of girls you want, they will generate an income that HSH determines, your taskmistress will still collect money from these girls (on top of what the building itself earns you, effectively letting you double dip), and these girls themselves will also turn over whatever other money they earn (effectively letting you triple dip). Code-wise, you'll effectively have two groups of working girls while running a HSH brothel function inside of a brothel building you own that is staffed with its own working girls: one group that's tied to this mod, and one to the brothel function that runs in HSH. 4. Occasionally, you'll have some girls who are tired of the hard life in Skyrim (being a woman in wartime, or being a soldier in one of the armies), and willingly surrender themselves to sexual slavery given that they are usually fed well and get to sleep in a warm bed. Comes with boosted stats as a product of living a hard life; you can choose to accept them or refuse them. Maybe/maybe not apply a special role to have these girls recruit other girls to your inns/brothels. 5. Option to recruit Flower Girls to work for you: either they approach you ("I'm tired of working the streets, you own the inn and I want to work someplace warm. Can I come work for you?") but these girls get to keep some of the money; or you can approach them and hire them to work for you with a starting bonus. Of course, being that is LoversLab and this mod is designed to work with paradise halls, you can just enslave these girls anyways...but where's the fun in that? 6. Fit in an economy management-style function - like, say, in the MCM - to let you manage the slave trade in all of your cities. This might work better, thematically, as its own mod, but basically lets you nerd over stats/numbers in the MCM to determine when/where to buy/sell trades of different genders, races, or ethnicities. For example, if you're pre-civil war conclusion, you might have someone in windhelm who will pay through the nose for a Thalmor slave directly from Solitude; or a mine overseer in Markarth who wants men to staff the mine and pays a premium for orcs and nords (in that order). That same idea, except less about individual people and more about particular cities/regions/businesses willing to pay for certain slave types. Possibility of mini-quests (delivered via courier, of course!) to intervene and stop bandits from raiding your slave caravans, and profiting by getting a reward from the local Jarl for killing the bandits and also pilfering their loot and equipment. My main reason for thinking of this is that the Home Sweet Home mod does a great job of running the brothel experience, but that function is designed such that it only works while you're actually present in the brothel. My mod's idea is to have a brothel that generates income while you're not present in it. Edited March 23, 2024 by keitel66 added a new bullet point
karlpaws Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 There are other player home mods (at least that's what I remember most) that let you generate a passive income while you are not present. They also have options for increasing the income by NPCs you're able to recruit (miners, farmers, other skilled trades) and decisions you make to increase your income at the expense of NPC happiness, defensive options against bandits, dragons, giants, etc. Renaming some of the options for a brothel seems possible, but I think would mean more that just renaming stuff in the MCM. In other words, I think your mod does already almost exist in several forms, someone just needs to combine features from several mods.
