Quests (Actual Skill Issue by the Modder). I am not limiting this to Fate, I could add other characters if i feel like. Update Probably doesn't break saves but erase and change for new stuff. OcapsPunchbag Posted March 15, 2024 Author Posted March 15, 2024 (edited) On other news It appears some stuff went down in the SS community about this kind of mod; I had already decided this mod is never going to touch other factions nor have dependencies (this decision probably will make the quality suffer) so that i don't need to care about that. I may consider changing it. If anybody wants to learn how to mod Starsector (and you don't want to go to Discord, where skilled programmers, spriters and talented people reside, in what regards to this game) i can teach you what little I know. dummy0152 Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 (edited) On 3/15/2024 at 12:47 PM, OcapsPunchbag said: On other news it appears some stuff went down in the SS community about this kind of mod. oh it was just presidentmattdamon getting uppity about a fork of his mod that added many degenerate things and handholding, he added save breaking code on his mod if it detected the fork but that unintentionally broke a older version of his mod that the fork uses a base from, the modders discord tried really hard to take matt's side because he was part of the modding cabal but once alex permanently banned him from the forums they had to take a stance and pretend to respect alex's whishes but they still pretend to be morally superior over a mod fork... i don't recommend ever setting foot on the unofficial modder discord because of this whole thing, implying the forked version of matt's mod is enough to get you permabanned from the discord too. also rules.csv has a program to make it easy to edit the conditionals but it's only for versions 96/97 if i recall and you can find tutorials in the starsector forums that help greatly which is another reason i don't recommend setting foot in the modders discord as well. a good chunk of your mod works with the forked version of matt's mod but it's lacking a few dialogue stuff that you'd need to add for the npc's Edited April 3, 2024 by dummy0152 1

I would be kind of weird if I didn't about RS, wouldn't it? I would like to put some interaction through it. But the developer of that Mod made his wishes pretty clear on not allowing gay interactions in it, so I am respecting his wishes and making my stuff outside of his framework. Also, I didn't like separating the way you get Oda sex from the rest of the characters; it just didn't feel right. So I am not touching it for now, if someone else wants to do it, go ahead.

And the factions show up on intel factions?

Thanks Just got back to my game and I don't have a Condilar and the faction doesn't show up in my intel. Edit: Actually ignore me the mod was in a folder in a folder in my mods folder. My bad. Well, the problem is that the error reporting on a modded game is REALLY hard to read, because it displays the paths of literally all the mods as being the issue. And it bombs out at the very first mismatch it finds and doesn't look for more, so if I fix the first filename I'd have to launch again to get the next one... so I kinda haven't bothered so far. But I can, if you want me to. I've never messed with making Starsector mods. I gather that the csv file tells the game what files to load? So I could go through the CSV and look for mismatches, if you need help along those lines. Ok, I hope you don't mind, can you do some stuff and send me what shows up. 1.- Boot up Starsector, and do whatever causes the game to crash out or error. (If it crashes on startup, that counts) DON'T RESTART THE GAME after this. 2.- Go into Starsector\starsector-core find a text file named "starsector". That's the log, it may have other files with log under it, but the important one is the "starsector" one, you can either find where the error shows up near the bottom of the file and send me what shows under it or if you are unsure, just send me the whole file. Additional information may be found here: Starsector log file - The Starsector Wiki For fun: Yes, CSV does indeed tell the game which files to load, and the error is probably caused by a mismatch indeed. You can do that, if you feel inclined to, but I am planning to set up a distro anyways to check for myself.

While my virtual machine is incapable of running Starsector, it did catch the startup issue. So now it shouldn't crash on load, so if you find other errors that show up in gameplay, could you tell me. This is really only a capitalization of a word error, so it is going to be fixed in the next update, but here is a version with this error "fixed" Blue Moon State Linux Fix First Attempt.zip

(or from the other characters). These are written down as ideas for now, don't really know when i would get time to write them. Now i will say in this mod Asto is dom-top leaning towards the mc, and the mc is written to be male or at least a dick having person. 1
