[XCL] Bigger Sales Numbers


A mod that makes your sales numbers actually look like you are selling to a company. Commission rates are reduced to 10% of original values while the number of pills sold are increased by x10, resulting in the same payout as core game play with more immersive sales numbers.  A new character is required for commission adjustment.  Fixes kickback for non-SWP pill sales.

Highly likely to be incompatible with any mods that change secretary/office job.  It is compatible with Demo Experiments though. My version of Cold Calling Improvements now supports this mod.

You may want to change the mod summary info a bit. I haven't yet tested your mod but if I am reading your context correctly then I suspect you intend for it to change nothing but make for more realistic world building.

 

What I think you meant was "This mod will reduce your commissions by 10% of what they normally would be, while multiplying the total quantity of bought pills by a factor of 10 to result in order sizes being more realistic while keeping the same commission returns." Meaning that a 21% commission rate after your mod would end up being 2.1% but 24 pill sales becomes 240 which pays you the exact same end commission but makes the total sold larger.

 

The way you currently have it worded is the same as basically saying that no matter what your normal commission rate whether 1% or 21% you will get exactly 10% and that if you were going to sell 24 pills the mod would instead sell 34. xD

Unsure what exact combos are causing this but you can get 0% commission rate with this mod. 
Case: Low Charm and low Mind, starting as secretary and working up to sales.

So I figured out something was wrong with the secretary punishment mechanics - turns out in the base game it checks to see if your commission rate is at least 4, and whenever you take a commission penalty, it lowers it by 2.

 

You actually changed this in the mod for a few passages, but the passage :: sales failure also needed an edit.


I added it to your mod here. Please check and see if this is to your liking. I just divided each % cut by /10 to be in line with your other passages.

After closing sales demonstration I got this

The line "commission has been increased 25% to 1% due to your demonstration" bothers me. Seems like 1.5 * 1.25 = 1.875 got rounded to integer 1.

 

Though money calculations are right, so it is not a major issue

Mandatory Sales is an [around].  As long as bigger sales loads before it everything is fine.

 

@brgont I'll look into tweaking the commission readout next update.  I know of one more commission adjustment I need to fix.

That's an issue with Cold Calling.  There seems to be a problem with the code for being approached while cold calling.  I am investigating.

I just found out after trial and error that with this mod installed you cannot select the dairy queen pill at the office, you just get errors and it randomly selects a different pill. Just to let everyone know.

The mod has been updated to 0.21.7 to include Office Babes integration.  If you find any points where commission values seem wrong please let me know.  I have checked every passage I found that calls sales job commission.

I'm afraid it's been too long for me to remember my exact mod list at the time, (It's changed since then, but I did have quite a few mods so it could have been a combination I suppose, but my issue was fixed after removing this mod from my load order) and it was to select it as a product for a sale.

I'm getting ready to do a fairly modded play through, including this mod.  I'll see if I can replicate the issue.  I can't see anything in the passages that would cause something like this though.

I've noticed that sales numbers are increased just a little bit, while my commision is reduced to 0.6%, making me 120 bucks on a 20k sale with 40ish pills. My earnings compared to vanilla sales seem to not scale up proportionally with the numbers. Im actually making less money with this mod than if I were to just deal with the unrealistic sales numbers in vanille

 

Also noticed that after doing the demonstration, passing with flying colors the 25% commission increase does not seem to change my earnings at all.

The commission payout is identical to base game.  A 20k sale at .6 commission is $120, base game would of been a 2k sale at 6% for $120.  6%(.6 in mod) is the lowest commission you can have.  Your commission goes up at the same rate as base game.  The only point where this mod differs from base game is I allow you to get kickback from selling Dairy Queen.  If you find any examples of mismatched numbers please let me know, with any relevant info(employees, lead type, demo, pill type sold, final pills sold, commission, other mods installed) and I can look into it.
