Eladano Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 (edited) Alternate Start, Racemenu, Sky UI, and Schlongs of Skyrim all stopped functioning (game still runs) I don't think I've had something like this happen before. I'm adding mods to a clean install, launching the game every 2-3 downloads, creating a character and testing functionality every 5-6 mods. I purge my savefiles, boot the game up again, and get treated to the vanilla Skyrim opening. The mods I installed since the last character are all npc makeovers, which don't strike me as the culprit. I did alter the "SSE Engine Fixes" .toml (the patched one for current AE build) to allow Steam achievements despite mods, but I also turned it back off and got the same results. This is very weird, everything worked a little bit ago. Mods that *are* working include texture replacers and HIMBO (aside from the missing penis, but that's SOS). I'm going to play for a little bit and see what else is working or not to see if someone else can make heads or tails of this. EDIT: Not working: Alternate Start, Racemenu, Sky UI, SOS, HIMBO, CBBE 3BA, Sexlab, MCM, Loading screen replacer, Immersive Wenches, NPC replacers, PsBoss's More Sovengard statues, Caught Red Handed quest expansion, Azura's Dawn (house mod), physics mods Parts of HIMBO and CBBE seem to work, I have found both males and females with non-vanilla bodyshapes. I think there's a couple different bodyslide presets present for both, which would mean O Body NG (standalone) is still working. I can't manually change the body preset, but that might be more the fault of Sky UI Working: Texture mods, SKSE (I think, it displays version number in pause menu), Creation Club content, PsBoss's Statue Replacers One last thing: Despite setting the SSE engine fix .toml setting to allow the game to prohibit achievements, the Skyrim save file doesn't seem to recognize that its modded, there's no [M] next to it. WTF happened to my game? XD Edited February 24, 2024 by Eladano
traison Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 (edited) There's been a few threads like this in the past, especially after the 1130 and 1170 patches. I think generally it comes down to BEES (if you're on pre-1130), Engine Fixes and mods with incompatible dlls. Easiest way to solve this considering you don't have an ongoing game with hundereds of hours invested: trial'n'error your way through mods until the problem goes away - and like I said, focus on mods with dlls. Eladano Posted February 25, 2024 Author Posted February 25, 2024 (edited) All right, I think I figured it out. It *was* SSE Engine fixes (like you suggested). Due to my misunderstanding, the patched .toml file turns critical settings in the mod off. It isn't to patch it for SKSE, its to patch it for NBBS (New Bethesda Bull Shit). The "settings" are no longer settings; they are imperatives. (I don't think I've ever used that word before....) Also, due to my inexperience with Vortex, I might have been playing with deactivated .esp s. It would line up with which mods were working or not. Thanks for the help.
