Stop discussing ideas and focus on the problem

We're all excited on the possibilities but right now it's not possible to load .pak files replacing models without crashing the game after the update. If we don't make a "War Room" about it there will be no bloody progress (I'm on discord of Pals of Desire and they're also having corrupt data problems on loading .pak files, and youtuber smoovers as well).

People on the other threads are already talking about this due to the two mod teams getting entirely different visions on what to create. A maintainable framework that makes modular modding possible is what this game needs.

Unless there's one base framework that anyone can build off of freely then it's going to be a dumpster fire. Teams trying to control what gets made and how never ends well, especially when there's nothing really built just yet.

Is this a steam thing? I played it fine with the replacers on gamepass today.

Yes, I'm using steam. The problem is when you save the psk file using FModel and then import it into Blender and save a new mesh as .fbx and import it into Unreal Editor and cook with the right asset files (Checking in UAssetGUI for double checking). The game crashes stating that there's data corruption in Unreal Engine 5.1.1 and in the latest version of the engine it just crashes with no dialog. It's really frustrating and it's really not clear why it's happening.

The gamepass version probably isn't updated yet.

 It's also hard to tell if they are on the same version because the newest Steam version is 0.1.3.0 and the newest for X-Box and the MS Store is 0.1.1.2. The Steam version added something against exploits and cheating maybe that's the problem?

There's probably some mod that's crashing things. I'd recommend running an isolation test on the mods until you figure out the issue.

 

My own test nude mods have no impact on loading whatsoever.

I agree that focusing on the basics is a high priority that should be handled first. However I cannot replicate your problem - I have right now 7 different .pak mods replacing models with custom ones, and they all load and work without issue. Playing both single player and dedicated server (hosted on another local computer). Could you explain a bit more about the issue you're having? Maybe share some some .pak files that are giving you issues - so I can see if I can reproduce the issue.

Wait so you can use model replacers and play fine in multiplayer where other people do not have the same model replacers? If so that makes me excited

Yeah mods that only affect visual stuff are client-side. that means if you grab a Katress nude mod then on your screen every katress will look nude. anyone else looking at your katress will just see the usual katress - unless they're also using a lewd katress mod.

 

Also this thread is months old.

i'm using steam deck and the steam version of the game and none of the mods are giving me issues?? i guess i'm confused by what you mean. i can get all the mods i have working except check iv mods, those all seem to be fake/not working
