Black Screen

Greetings,

 

Alrighty I'm about to give up, its pretty frustrating.

 

Basically, on occasion, when I load up my game, the screen stays black, I can hear the sounds of the game, but the screen is black, as if the game was trying to load itself and stopped there and could get no further. I thought perhaps it was because of textures or something of that nature? So I pulled the Bethsea(sp) high res textures and I put in the Skyrim HD 2k textures in, the lite. I figured that would help but.. I'm not sure anymore. Its.. frustrating =_= 

 

I might have too many mods. Either way, here's my load order:

I had a similar issue and it was a conflict in the enb settings with Depth of Field. If you are using an ENB see if you can open the ENB console within the game. If so try disabling the DOF. Otherwise if you have a save that does that consistently load another save then the newest one (I think sometimes there were a number of scripts that were running when the save was made and Skyrim has troubles reloading it when started but is ok if it is already running).

At a glance

 

You are packing mods into your game too much and too fast.

Many of those mods will put a heavy burden on your system as well as the papyrus scripting system.

Get rid of the high res textures..  If you are already having problems.. they will only make it worse.

I believe you only need 1 of the SOS - Vectorplexus addons.  You should check that mods installation instructions to make sure.

 

You have a large portion of mods that will require a bashed patch to work with that setup.. and you do not have a bashed patch in your load order.

 

You have a large number of script heavy mods all trying to work together

Headtracking, frostfall, wet and cold, (getsnowy will alleviate some of the wet and cold scripting system.. so it is good that you have that in there.

These mods can all work together, however... it will be difficult for papyrus to handle that many. Make sure your script latency is not too high 

You can use the convenient horses MCM.. there is a script pinging tool in that mod that can test your latency time.

 

I would start by only loading 10 mods at a time then create "new game"

when you run into the black screen problem... note the last 10 mods you added.. unload them all and load them 1 at a time until you find the problematic mod.

This is where your problem most likely resides.

 

But if you want my opinion,  you should really prioritize the mods you ABSOLUTELY want... only load those mods.. make sure you only use the patches that are appropriate.. run a bashed patch.   If your game is stable at that point.. then and only then should you even think about adding more load to your game.

Hmm I have heard much about the bash patch but I honestly have no idea how to use it, though I think it comes with Wyre bash right? Ahh I'm clueless. I did suspect I have too many mods, its such a bad addiction =_=  Hmm I will probably have to go through them and figure out exactly what I really can't live without .. *pouts* 

 

Does anyone know where there might be instructions on how to install and get said bash patch and the like? Thank you both for the help! I pulled out the enb I was using an went back to an old favorite and it seems to be working much better, so it makes me wonder if that was the black screen issue, but I know.. I most def need to cut down on the mods lol

EDIT: Does anyone know a tool that could make BOSS sort all the armor mods to the bottom? Cause I have a lot of armor mods but.. they should be at the bottom rather than the top .. well so I read somewhere. lol Thanks!
