Azailahab Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 I am finally comfortable with ESLify Everything to compact formIDs etc and have ESLified a bunch of mods with that tool. I have a porny as fuck build based on Nolvus Ascension (some stuff removed that I did not like and stuff that did not play nice with LL mods etc) with exactly 2540 plugins (total install size is now 607GB). I still want to add some more mods and get them to play nice but my ESP count is sitting at F3 so I only have a few pure esp slots left. I have converted as much ESPs to ESPFEs as I can.  The new version of Skyrim SE is supposed to have increased the record count for ESLs from 2048 to 4096. The 2048 record count for ESPFEs was one of the limiting factors for ESPFE conversion and the reason for compacting form IDs in the first place. Will more mods that were identified as being able to be ESLified, but where the only limiting factor (not new cells etc.) was it had more than 2048 records, now be able to be converted to ESPFEs without compacting now?  I'm trying to prove my wife wrong about my modding time /game time ratio and have actually played this build that I have spent the last month modding. My player is now at the lofty high level of 9. I've been to whiterun, had lots of sex, defeat works (and actually pretty quickly), combat is smooth, it saves and reloads fine, voice files are working, no issues with 32:9 aspect ratio, slaverun enforcer is doing its thing pretty well, and my frame rates are stable between 59.4 and 60.2 with a slight stutter when entering whiterun proper for only a few frames.  No crashes yet, although I still have a small issue with floating horse cocks, creature mods and order are ABC --> MNC --> FNIS -->Creature Framework --> XP32MSSE. the only things overwriting ABC files are a few texture (not mesh) files from Fill Her Up and BakaFactory SLAL Pack.  How fucked will I be if I try to replicate this build to the new version where ESLs are good with 4096 records instead of 2048. I know it would take time to convert the build from a 1.5.97 base to the new one, but would it gain me anything? 1
Tlam99 Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Rumors ? Â Limit slots has been 4096 all the time. Limit records inside has been raised by engine fixes to 2048. Maxstdio from 255 to 2048 (open file handles). Â

Tlam99 Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 (edited) Well, I test it with empty FE's. See no reason it had not been working before.  Nah, won't do it ?  If it's like that, whats the problem, got nearly 1000 slots left to fill.   Edited December 7, 2023 by Tlam99
wareware Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 New record limit probably isn't going to change much. The bigger deal is the version header update on EVERYTHING made by the new creation kit. This means downgraded versions will no longer be able to load these plugins without proper conversion.
Guest Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 This mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/106283) should make it so plugins made with the updated tools with a higher plugin version should work with downgraded games, but doesnt fix the other issue of esls (and maybe other plugins?) being able to go outside the acceptable range of formids. I think if you recompact the esl file it might fix that though.
