I found a weird bug with unlocking your demos that I am unsure whether it is caused by your mod specifically, or an unknown element of the base game code. So after recent changes, if I read your post correctly, the demos now are supposed to be unlocked by reaching the 3rd promotion and then going to the break room and choosing to initiate them but I never get an option for that in my current play through and they remain undoable.

 

I started the game with the 1/1/1 Loser archetype for max xp potential (and deliberately tougher starting conditions). I answered all of the questions correctly and even won the minigame but despite that the dice roll still failed me and was forced into the Secret-ary job. I quickly completed the requirements to become a salesperson and then on the first day not taking the Sec pill was already instantly eligible for the first sales promotion due to it counting my time / money / points earned as a Secret-ary. I then worked hard as a sales person and received two more promotions... but still no options to unlock the demos were possible. I already unlocked both the Hot & Ready and the Good Girl Petite pill choices. Then I received even more promotions yet still kept getting the same old demos and no options for unlocking the new ones anywhere.

 

I used to be able to get the demos before the change to locking it behind the promotions but now it just does not work.

PS After posting my own issue I read the post right above me by RenFL2 and believe it may be the same issue since they mentioned quick promotions.

That is exactly my issue except I managed to start as a salesperson.

Not sure if It would help, and it sound like you found a way to fix it, but as I have had some similar issues here the last few days where I have not gotten any of the special demoes, where it has been no issue before, but then I remembered that a few days ago I was also in the breakroom and happened to take a look at the what was it called? the place where you can do sales talks for other people, and there was also a button to say yes/no to participate in special sales talks, which at the time I had not seen stood on accepting them, so i pressed it a few times until it say no, that being a few days ago this happened, and I had not reciewed any special of the hypno, barista, pool, or the newest one with Kenzie since, which I have just returned to yes instead an checked, and I got the Hypno demo just like that 🙂

Ohhh I see, sorry about that, thought that button was there more or less from the get go.

 

I must admit I have yet to try a start as a loser, have had a few accidental starts as the generic start, but otherwise I have yet to try anything but the playboy start. so I am unsure if that could have had something to do with what you have experienced.

Hey all! Thanks for being patient -- I moved homes recently and have been busy figuring out IRL stuff at the same time. The most recent update to this mod was meant to alleviate this issue, but I guess people are still experiencing it. Can you verify that this issue is occurring for you with no other mods installed and the most recent version of the demo experiments? I've been unable to replicate this error and I suspect that it could be due to a mod conflict which is going undetected by the modloader. I personally don't play much with mods other than the ones I've developed (and tbh I don't play much XCL at all lately due to IRL stuff)

Here is my mod list. Is it correct to just use the entire all-in-one zip file like this or is that what I'm doing wrong?

Hello!

That looks like there's some weird things going on with your save file -- could you please try reloading your save file (or even better, starting a new one) and seeing if the error persists?

Additionally, I recommend pruning your modlist and ensuring that outdated or obsolete mods are not being used. I notice you have two versions of Dreddful Endings, for instance. Additionally, you should probably get rid of the Mirande CumCure mod since the Cum-Cure pill is a base game item now.

Lastly: the way you installed this mod looks correct. Just use the entire zip file, no extracting. The mod install instructions are in the original post above -- just follow them

I've been having a problem where the boss tells me i can sign up for the alternate demos but when I go into the break room it says I am already signed up and no matter what I do, turning them off, back on again, leaving it alone, they won't happen, I just get the base game demos. mod loader doesn't show any conflicts either. I included my mod list the only thing you can't see in the picture is the diagnostic kiosk twee. Also this is the may 3 build from subscribestar so that may be part of it. 

 

*EDIT* 

I found an incompatability with curio expansion mod 2. once I removed that the alternate demos started working.

This might be one of those issues that can be resolved by adjusting the mod order.  I don't know what some of the mods do, but I'm thinking potentially the Work Stats may for some reason overwrite the list of demos available.

I would try disabling that mod and see if it works then.

And/or rename the file for Demo Framework so it starts with 'XA'.  Then it will load after everything except the last ones that start with XCL, which I know doesn't cause this issue because I use Demo and all 3 of those ones (Potent Pleased, Spike, Diagnostic) and do not have the issue you do.

Alternate demos are available for the Dumb Bitch, GoodGirl Basic, GoodGirl Max, GoodGirl Petite, and Ready-Maid pills. To see the Barista or Hypno demos, try selling either GoodGirl Basic or GoodGirl Max -- those two can give you either Hypno or Barista, at a 1/3 chance for each (and a 1/3 chance for the respective base game demo). If you don't get them, try multiple times! Good luck and have fun!

It's dreadful endings. They conflict on a temp pill list that they both start with. If dreadful loads after, I think the alt demo "pills" don't get registered.

Hi, I have an issue with the petite pharmacy demo. I refused the blowjob and then refused the pill which failed the contract as expected, the problem is that I'm still given a random pill and transform.

Ran into an unusual issue. When I accept a demo, whether by notice board or sales, it sends me back to the office, and all buttons disappear. Full on soft lock.

So I did some experimenting, and realized it wasn't this mod causing the issue. I assumed that the only error in Cold Calling/Office Girls was just that the waiting bar was gone, and I had to manually click the cold calling button every hour. Obnoxious but oh well. Apparently those two combined are what is causing the issue. Cold Calling boots you back to the office after accepting a demo, and Office Girls makes the buttons disappear because... reasons?

I loaded the mods individually to figure it out. I'll put a post in the Office Girls board for you.

just happened to take a little look on the pics that followed the mod, and was wondering if you could do a bit about some of the "skin and bones" pics of some the generated pics? Looks a little chocking.

I think there's a bug with the original base game dumb bitch demo. One of the latest base patches changed the pleasure values needed for the guy to cum, and I think this mod still uses the old ones somewhere. The result is never being able to make him cum and finish the demo because $his_pleasure gets reset to 9 before the game's check if it's above 15. I confirmed base game doesn't have this issue, but haven't confirmed this mod is the culprit yet.

 

Edit: Confirmed this mod is the issue. Disabled and loaded up a save. Was able to complete a demo no problem.

I don't know what you mean. Could you post in the X-Change Life discord referring to the pictures you specifically don't like? I'm happy to continue to improve the media included with the mod if you can give me more specifics!

Looking into this now. In the future, please post bug reports on the discord -- I don't check this nearly as often.

Edit: I'm not able to replicate this issue. Rather than removing only this mod, a better test would be checking when the game is only using this mod. Doing so, I'm able to complete the base game's Dumb Bitch demo no problem. There doesn't seem to be anything setting his pleasure to 9, nor did I have anything like that in my code in the first place. Unless you meant 0 pleasure, possibly?

Not sure about the exact bug RenFL2 is encountering, but I did run into some weirdness in that part of the game when doing my DB Demoverhaul mod. The base game sets the client's pleasure_max/stamina to 15, but I don't think that variable ever gets checked; the game has "15" hardcoded as the amount to use. My mod alters it so that he has a different amount each time. It might "fix" the issue being encountered (though it adds in a lot of additional complexity).
