thirstydovahkiin Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 More Nasty Critters - Odin Compatibility Patch View File More Nasty Critters SE has entries for Flame Atronach and Flame Thrall summons that can clobber the changes made by Odin - Skyrim Magic Overhaul. This is an extremely basic patch that simply copies the Odin stats while retaining MNC's "female" flag. I've only given this some very basic testing, so use at your own risk. ESL-Flagged ESP. Make sure it loads after both Odin and MNC. Submitter thirstydovahkiin Submitted 10/31/2023 Category Adult Mods Requires More Nasty Critters SE Regular Edition Compatible No
majorfreak Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 sorry for sounding ignorant, since i have never tried to create a mod: Why not just have MO2's left pane install order be Odin then MNC below it?

If two mods modify the same entries, whichever mod is below will overwrite the mod above. With your suggestion, MNC's changes to the atronachs will take place in your game and the changes made by Odin will not. Edited October 31, 2023 by kamoewarrior 1

I wonder why that was so hard to get the first time. *frowns* it's probably just me being dumb and not skyrim modding being subtle, nuanced, complex and therefore difficult for the end user to understand the importance of said modding efforts. lol
majorfreak Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 okay, followup: if MO2 isn't showing any +/- icons does that mean the 'clobbering' happens in the load order? obviously i'll be using this patch since i have both. LOOT likes to place odin above (lower priority) than MNC.
Electric Aether Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Thank you, will download after further testing.

LOOT likes to place odin above (lower priority) than MNC. So MO2 _can_ tell you when a specific mod overwrites a specific file from either the base game or another mod. I.E. if you have "readme.txt" in one mod, and another mod replaces it with their own "readme.txt" file. And you can see that sort of clobbering using the +/- icons in the left pane. That isn't the sort of clobbering we are talking about here. In addition to 'raw' data files, mods usually contain an ESL/ESP/ESM file. And these files are actually databases containing a bunch of records that describe the actual game world (i.e. what NPCs exist and their stats, a definition of all the items in the game, the actual layout of every cell of the world, and etc) Records in these databases are loaded and overwritten based on the order of plugins listed in the right hand pane under the plugins tab. Lower plugins replace the records of the plugins above them if they both have entries that touch a specific record. You can see the information in these records easiest if you load up xEdit (https://tes5edit.github.io/docs/), and xEdit has the ability to tell you which records are being overwritten and by which mod. MO2 does not on it's own attempt to parse those files. Edited October 31, 2023 by grosaprap typos 1
Cracatoa Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Thanks for the patch! This conflict has been annoying me for a while.
edinburg Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 I run V++ Enairim too. I created my own version of this patch (which I expect is identical), as well as a compatibility patch for Valravn and ZAP which combines ZAP's disabling of attacks when bound with Valravn's stamina changes to attacking, and a Growl/MNC/ABC patch which combines the werewolf edits from all three. For those that use high poly heads, I also have a HPH/MNC patch that combines the vampire height change from MNC with the HPH Vampire Fix.esp changes.
