xxxstupidfastxxx Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 (edited) Hello LL! I've returned with a new account (email update locked me out of my old one) and have spent a bit of time looking into what has changed in the modding scene since I've been gone. Looks like a ton is new and exciting in the world of Nexus mods but they have not caught up in the adult modding game despite the OStim/Nemesis animation revolution. That being said, a ton of changes have been made since my last playthrough in 2020. I have some questions around what has changed in the LL department and what specific version to playthrough. The original drive for the new playthrough came from this video detailing the new mods from the last few years: The changes look fantastic and like a true overhaul from what my last experience was. But this guide ignores adult mods. So I went looking into adult modding for pre-built collections/Nexus Adult mods/SexLab. When comparing, Sexlab seemed to have the most animations, namely the creature framework which is ignored in Nexus, and the most overall options and content. It comes with the drawback that many of these mods havent been updated in half a decade and from what I can tell there are few major changes to Sexlab Skyrim that have happened in the 3 years since I last looked. As for collections, the only one I found was Nefaram, which looks great. I am wary only because it has a very limited list and I'm not sure to what extent I can swap mods in and out, adding for example a creature framework and some of the gameplay/world mods mentioned in the above video. https://github.com/ConsolidatedSky/NEFARAM/wiki I wanted to find out if anyone has tried this but attempted to swap in gameplay mods/add things like the creature framework. So I went off to find something more akin to the STEP guides of old. I've found without a guide of tested mods that you can go through days of setup only to find constant CTDs and framerate drops because of incompatibility with large modlists. The best I've found so far for Sexlab based modding is: Which I like since its being updated, has tons of options to swap in and out, and has creature framework already built in. I wanted to know if anyone has tried this and can attest to its stability, since its list is so massive that it makes me thing this is going to be very unstable. Hoping this isn't the case though since it already includes multiple mods I'm interested in so if it is indeed stable and I can swap in a weather or enb change that would be the way to go. Finally, I wanted to ask if anyone knows what has changed around here that I should look at. The animations list on the SE downloads pages looks more or less the same with many links to animation packs almost a decade old. Creature mods are also all from about 2017. Has there been any major developments here? EDIT: My last thread a few weeks ago devolved into FNIS vs Nemesis. I admit nemesis looks more user friendly but from its debug posts not much more stable than FNIS. I've been using FNIS for years now so plan on using it given the creature framework requires it. It appears using the two together is... difficult. Edited October 14, 2023 by xxxstupidfastxxx
Aylis Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 As long as you follow the included instructions it is very stable. CTD are so rare that you can almost say 'not existant'. The only drawback so far is the need for a fast SSD (or better NVME) and a good videa card. But i included links and instructions for weaker systems. 'Til a few months ago i was using an old Radeon 570, had no good FPS, but it was still playable. Also if you have questions just ask in the thread. The people there are very helpful in case i'm not around (like now as i'm reworking the guide for FO4).
FallFall Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 The guides from him are very good but the oy problem I have with that mod list is because of nemesis.

Will probably start going through the files this weekend. Probably will post for any substitutions to get thoughts in the thread. As for Nemesis (this comes up in every thread I post) its a bit more stable and easier to setup but if youve used FNIS before FNIS really isnt hard to use. Slightly worried about lack of compatibility with new animation mods on nexus but @aylis 's list seems to contain many of the ones I was most worried about.
