Having Weird Fps Issues

Hey guys I have a fairly beefy computer (2070 super, AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 8 core, 2 terabite ssd where skyrim se located, power supply is 1k cuz the 750 broke recently, 32 gigs of ram)

I am having fps issues pretty bad. Things I have tried.  Setting graphics to lowest(lost fps doing this somehow), disabling g sync, disabling v sync, disabling antialiasing, updating graphics drivers(ionly 3 months since last update), updated windows, deleted unb's entirely, went into geforce experience and stoped it from upscaling game to 4k then downscaling to monitor res, lowered the res from 1440p to 720p, new game, deleting outfit mods im not using, reinstalling body mods, uninstalling textures, uninstall jk's skyrim (had all of them), uninstalling texture optimizer, uninstalling voice mods, uninstalling warzone (stayed deleted), installed a lower res skin texture mod, installed optimized fps mods, installed sse engine fixes, uninstalled ai overhaul, uninstalled npc replacers, reinstalled hdt smp, uninstalled faster smp, uninstalled slaroused and installed oslaroused, tried uninstalling any mod that was in console constantly (devious training/aroused creatures), installed a skyrim se priority mod, installed a mod removing raidal blur, deleted weather mods.

 

How I check fps is cocing to different areas on a new game after letting all mods load. Alternate start prison 170-200+ fps, outside abandoned prison 35-41 fps, helgen exterior 60-71 fps, riverwood 30-42 fps, whiterun bannered mare 150+, whiterun 30-40 fps with occasional dips into 20's. (other holds similar fps) these numbers are constant despite all the changes I've attempted that I explained above

 

I've tried spawning 10 npcs in the abandoned prison with console with 0 affect on the fps. Indoors has a much higher fps than outdoors including in holds so I think there is something in the world/holds making me lag, but spawning the npcs in abandoned prison with 0 fps change makes me think it isnt them. Fps doesnt change in combat either.

So I assume you tested with a vanilla game install and concluded that the issue is in a mod or combination of mods. Also, no mention of you doing anything with ENB, that's not installed then I assume? No community shaders or other similar things?

No enb and this is the second install. I tried doing vanilla yesterday but the intro kept crashing so I couldn't coc around but the halogen area with more npcs in it had significantly higher fps than when mods enabled. So I'm assuming its a mod issue

I did have an enb the first install with the same exact issues and fps. I didn't install one on fresh install

That is not vanilla then. Probably not relevant to your current fps problem, but it does make me question what state your mod setup is in if your mod manager is not able to restore a clean vanilla game.

 

But, back to the fps problem, your issue is clearly outdoors, so:

1. Environment texture changers: Grass, trees, rocks, mountains, dirt, water, clouds, sky, NPCs, ...
2. Environment mesh changers: Grass, trees, rocks, mountains, buildings, items, effects, NPCs, occlusion planes...
3. DynDOLOD.

That's where I'd start. I know you already said you've uninstalled a bunch of things but, again, are you sure? Vanilla does not crash during the intro sequence either.

I had FPS issues too in Markarth, Windhelm and riftem and some places in skyrim-cell too, for me was that i was using https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/30872 and changed to https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/57339 and no more FPS issues (there is a especific option for some type of tech for your cpu soo you need to research that as i did depending on your procesor )

Good point, I sort of assumed everyone would be using FSMP or one of the earlier iterations of it by now.

 

Edit: CPU's today are only just catching up in raw single-thread performance to what I had 10 years ago. Granted that cpu cost >600€ at the time, and that was (obviously) before corona, the chip shortage, ryzen, spectre and the insane tech price inflation we got going now. Not saying this to swing my e-peen around, my point is, when it comes to single-thread performance, a lot of CPUs are actually quite pathetic.

 

Edit again: Ryzen 7 3700x is not a slouch though by any means.

I have a i5 intel core 7° he is my little warrior, he still can fight for me with certain games and not that much scripted mods (baka mods are their most ferus enemies x.x)

ya it was faster smp. i disabled one mod at a time till i disabled smp and my fps fixed. then i learned fsmp was a performance thing. dont know what i thought it was, but i didnt think it was performance lol
