Stage 55: "I need to convince Haelga ..."

Stage 56 would be the next for you ... exactly where you are stuck.

 

But I strongly advise you to go there by dialogue.

The only thing I can think of is - do you have any mod that touch the vanilla quest?

 

I will take a closer look at the conditions for the dialogues when I get to that stage in a few days (I am in the middle of the quest for Mara in Markarth so I am not that far behind you  ).

If I would need to guess I'd point somewhere in the conditions of the prompt "Admit what .." with the response "No! Please! Ask Svanna... "

Looking at it, I am just thinking that checking T01 for completed might be redundant at this stage or if something happened in player's games, it could be a breaking point. ?

As far as I know, I don't have any mods that change that vanilla quest. I am using several mods that add stuff to the Riften area, (more NPCs etc). But it could be possible that one or more of them might have made shadow changes that I'm unaware of. Not now, because I'm about to leave the house, but I'd be willing to share my mod order list later if you'd think it'd help.

As an experiment on my end, I used "setstage "quest name here" 56" and I was able to return to Svana and continue the quest. I haven't done much more than that, but it seems to be working fine afterward. Possibly a dialogue condition issue with just that line? I still have the save from before I used the command line to test any ideas you come up with.

Whatever mod manager you are using can export the list of mods.

 

I use the export function from NMM when I need one. I don't know about the latest iteration of Vortex from Nexus (I haven't installed it yet).

b) you already have XPMSE which does their job and makes them redundant

And ASLAL seem to be not at the end, which can make (other) troubles, too.

 

back to your issue: Did you put Haelga under control of your follower mods at one point ? I see MHIYH and mods like this can have side effects ?

1) Thanks for the tip, I'll change that.

2) No. Haelga was never made a follower, or modified in any way this play though. Mater of fact, I hadn't even visited Riften, or the even The Rift hold, until it came up in the sisterhood quest. I started this game specifically to play though that quest line, then do other adventures afterward.

 

Also, just now saw your earlier post, not sure how I missed it, my bad. When I get home tomorrow I'll load up that save and try those commands and report back.

Yes... that's part of it. I tested it on my current character who started off as male, and was turned into a female the first time he had sex with his owner after being captured by the Forsworns trying to save Fjotra.

It should work with sex with any NPC that is detected as a female by the game (using the pActorBase.GetSex() function).

So I did get to try that part with the vanilla quest for the marks of Dibella, and it worked without problem.

 

What I did was:

 

- Collect the marks from the men

- Confront Haelga about them. The quest objective tells you to talk to Svana

- Talk to Svana to complete the vanilla quest

- Go back to Haelga and threaten to expose her anyway. She begs you to talk to Svana so she can tell you she tells the truth about bring innocent for the corruption of the Temple in Markarth

- Talk to Svana and... Svana reveals what's going on.

 

Below is the sequence.. backwards for some reason.

Sorry for the delay getting back, had some IRL stuff to deal with.

That's the exact same thing I did, except I got stuck when trying to return to Haelga.

As an experiment, I used "setstage "Quest line name" 56" skipping the second confrontation with Haegla, and was able to finish both story lines just fine. On my end it appears that the problem was just with that one line of dialogue. So it seems like the issue was with the mod, and not the vanilla quest, if that helps. Is there anything I can try to further test this issue?

- Stage 50 must be complete (After confronting Hamal with the letter found in the underground bath)

- Stage 70 and 80 are not complete yet (you have not decided yet which path you are going down with)

- The quest for the Sybil is complete (vanilla quest T01)

- The quest for the Marks of Dibella is complete (vanilla quest FreeformRiften11, stage 200)

- You are talking to Haelga

 

By your account, you should have all these conditions met, so I don't know what to tell you about the missing dialogue.

I have indeed done all of those. I'm going to start a new game, with the same race as my current character and do the quest line over again and see if I can replicate the problem. I'll report back my results. (This will take a few days.)
