Costume Customizer crashes

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

In recent days (weeks?) Costume Customizer started crashing my game. I reinstalled it completely (downloaded the latest version) but it hasn't helped. The game starts, and then it crashes on the loading screen.

Even when I removed all other costume mods and only left Costume Customizer as the only one, it still does the same.

Any ideas how to solve this?

It's disabled by default for me, and the game would crash all the time before I downgraded the drivers.

Look carefully, if you use CC 2.5 or higher there is two material editor files and one is enabled

See, lastest driver works fine with CC (all prewiously too) but if you use CC 2.4 or higher then make sure about material editor. I use CC 2.5 but deleted all these and use from 2.2 or 2.3 (not sure) and works fine. All problems from not CC or driver itself but one file, maybe its not help for all nvidia users who have this problem but I found this

Is it ok to disable it though? What does it affect?

This file make only visual, you can change colors shiny etc., if You have reshade and good monitor then material editor is useless itself only what I like is mettalic option, costumes and wet effect (my opinion) You can change more shinny what I like otherwise this file is useless. If You disable it or deleted this file only causes visual effect nothin else or important.

Thank you so much!  I changed "MaterialEditor" to "DISABLED MaterialEditor" and it worked!  It doesn't crash any more!  Thanks for your help!

I upgraded GPU and updated drivers, game began to crash on startup. Disable MaterialEditor (never used it anyway), but now I have red lines on startup. Does anyone know how to get rid of them?

I went to add "DISABLED" to that file and found that I had 2 material editor files, just like in that screenshot. One called just "MaterialEditor.ini" and one called "DISABLED MaterialEditor.ini". So I just deleted "MaterialEditor.ini" so that only the "DISABLED" one remained and the game stopped crashing on startup for me. Thanks for the post.
