Monsto Brukes Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 If you're not, yes the title actually has that fucked up plural thing going on. It's a mobile game that has a KINDA pokemon thing going on: critters & upgrading & evolution. That's the "dragons" part. the "puzzle" part is a 6x5 board of 5 different colored orbs. pick one, slide it around the board for a few seconds displacing other orbs into match-3's (or more). combining the puzzle and the dragons is hard to explain... just try it. I read something one day that the company that made this game was making $2-3 million a day off this game. Must be fun, so lets see. I have a real mean streak in me when it comes to In Game Purchases (IGP). . . I don't do it. matter of fact, when i got my nexus 7 last summer, it came with a $25 credit on Play. I still have $19. I bought Unified Remote (a wifi based pc remote control that I use for my media center pc in the living room) because it is really really fucking good program. I never was much of a pokemon/magic the gathering kinda guy. Matter of fact, i was the dad that was like "why the hell do you want to play this?" when my kids wanted those cards in the 90s. But this isn't pokemon. I've got >50 days straight playing this thing on a device where I haven't kept any single game more than a week and wind up pitching most games after :20 because the IGP is so blatant. Oh you're going to make me wait 12 hours? I can cut this down and play now by spending gems or credits or feeding roses to the beetle or unwrapping a mummy or casting stars into the sky and hoping I get a rainbow that shits grenades or or or or or or . . . or basically plunking tokens into the machine. Pass. Anyway, P&D is fun. I play it usually a couple times a day for an hour or so, or longer if I have a bunch of upgrading to do... and it keeps me coming back without beating me over the head with IGP which is really subtle. It's there, but it's not a nag, nor does it get in the way. Even now when I think I've hit a wall, the only thing the IGP would do is shorten the time it will take me to get over it. Anyway, if you start playing, here's my player id: 396,961,266 If you add me as a friend, then "send a gift" to me, we will both get a 4+ star critter at a time when all you'll have or get would be 1 and 2* . . . and I could use the help getting over this wall. The gift literally is win win. It's one of many in-game mechanics to get you to make friends. Puzzle & Dragon Links: Android Game + Android Guide iTunes Online guide (with all kindsa extra shit).
