Immersive Hair Growth and Styling Skyrim SE Voice packs

View File

There are two downloads included.

1. "Immersive Hair Growth and Styling Voice 6x.7z"  - is a regular Voice Pack with the voice files for NPC characters. No requirements beyond the "Immersive Hair Growth and Styling Skyrim"-mod. Comes as a BSA archive with dummy esp (esl flagged) to facilitate faster loading times. Copy Archive 001 and 002 into a folder and unpack Archive 001 using 7-zip. It contains the esp and bsa file. Then create new archive using that newly created folder and use like any other mod. Loverslab only let's me upload files to a certain size, hence the split archive.

2. "DBVO Bella -Immersive Hair Growth and Styling SSE (6.7.2)" - is a Voice Pack for the mod "Dragonborn Voice Over" which voices the player character.

I have not tested the voice packs extensively yet, but checked that they work. After my next play through of Emily1673's mod I will change the status to Beta.

Also, Emily1673 is actively updating her mod and I plan on updating these voice packs somewhat closely with her releases.

The Voice files are created using tools that create the files in huge batches. They are far from perfect and are provided "As Is." The files are only as good as the tools. used. Especially the text synthesizing with Elevenlabs has trouble with emotional expressions, especially for short sentences.

I cannot manually fix files, as there are a lot and it would be beyond my available free time.

What comes next:

  • Regular updates
  • This has to wait until I can play the quest again. I currently play without this quest. The "Dibella Quest" features a Male-To-Female transition. So far I have only voiced the player character with the Voice Model "Bella", which has huge mod support (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/89810) and (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/91260). That Voice Model will not change, as I use it in my own mod list. I plan however on creating a male DBVO Voice Pack to cover starting as a male character. I have not figured out yet, which Voice Model I'm going to use. Now thinking about using Skyrim voicetype MaleEvenToned voice. It just gathered some support and quite a few mods are already done, including Skyrim and all DLCs.

Are there any requirements for the NPC one? Or good to install?

Nope, just  install with your favorite Mod Manager. It comes with a dummy esp and as a BSA archive to facilitate faster loading times of the game. Enjoy!

Voice for Lena tends to be a bit fast and her intonation is flat. Not sure how difficult it would be to correct those to problems. Looking forward to when it gets better.

For the updated version I used a slower pacing, which means slower speech. The new lines now should sound better. Unfortunately the old ones haven't changed. This is something I figured out after I made the first voice pack. Someday I'll redo the whole Voice Pack, as models and my technique have gotten better, but it takes a long time to create and I used it quite a bit and can live with it for now.

Fair enough. You created it, you get to decide.

@SquatsAreLife Thank you so much for the hard work!

I thought it would be a great addition to do voice-overs for the "player thoughts" as well, but don't know whether this is feasible (I don't have much experience with sounds).

The basic idea burns down to this:

I would provide a txt file containing lots of strings like: "<thought 1>", "<thought 2>"....

And I would need an esp file containing sound markers of all the "voices" created from these thoughts. (The names of the sound marker IDs do not really matter, but the order in the esp should be the same as in the txt file.)

The rest would be some scripting, which I could handle.

Just from a technical perspective: Do you think that would be a possibility?

If it is too much work, then never mind. I appreciate what you have done very much! :)

PC Head Tracking (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11993) does exactly that. It plays player sounds based on events, like entering a store or sneaking. I use it and have added my own thoughts by expanding the number of original files used in the esp in SSEdit. Now I have up a hundred randomly picked thoughts for an event. The voiced thought files in wav format are listed numerically in a folder. It is a bit of work/pain to adjust and change the thoughts.

I love that feature, that I can here my player's thoughts while playing and it would be an amazing feature added to YPS.

I do not know how the mod does it under the hood though.

To part of your question. The txt file for voice translation needs to be a simple list of thoughts. If you need something like "< before and >", after the string, that would just be simple text formatting I presume.

thought01

thought02

....

which will result in a voice file tought01.wav, thought02.wav. Special characters, like "!" and blank will be represented by an underline in the filename. Thought01! would come out as Thought01_.wav.

This is the voice filename of one of your YPS player thoughts.

Pretty girl alert!!! -> Pretty_girl_alert___.wav

I haven't used sound/soundmarkers in a mod yet. I'll have a look and see what I could do to help.

in Voicpack01 sse 6.6.3 windows defender says:   Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml

Any thoughts?

Strange! That would mean my system is infected. I'll investigate.

Edit: I ran my system and the files through Virus and Malware (Windows Defender as well with up to date security intelligence file) scanners and checked for viruses and malware. I also downloaded the files form here and checked them too. I've found nothing.

I researched "Script/Wacatac.B!ml" and it is a real Trojan Malware, but many reported false positives with Windows 10 and 11 and Windows defenders with this particular message. Some were reproducible false positives. Some mentioned that it happens with unpacking archives.

At this point I believe it is a false positive, as I've done my due diligence.

If others find any virus/malware warnings as well, please report with some details.

Good job with all the voice files!

Small recommendation: Might as well add the Bella Voice DBVO as required (or at least recommended) add-on for your DBVO, as Bella has now become the standard voice for YPS.

Congrats on finishing the questline! Party time (and new playthrough time)

They are not corrupt, you just need to learn how to deal with multipart zips...

I did add it for 7.6.2. Really, really late answer 😒

Found out that some of the new NPC voices from 6.8.0 are not playing, in particular the professional nail makeover dialogues.

Endarie gives the dialogue, but Yolie (and other YPS vendors) do not.

Maybe I messed up something with the voice types?

It's not urgent at all. But maybe you have a simple solution. 🙂

Yes - I'll have to have a look. I'll keep you posted.
