Force deletion of all materials in 3dmax

There was a short command that deleted all materials, but I forgot what it was. Something along the lines of $*.material= ??? or $*.mat=.....

I found $*.material=undefined on teh intarnetz, but it just returns undefined instead of OK. 

 

I also tried Utility->more->UVW remove-> remove materials and it also doesn't do anything.

So now I'm stuck with 4 useless garbage materials just because I used different shapes which I bet crash the BSdismemberskin.

What? this doesn't make any sense to me, you can remove and add a new BSdismemberskin (always do this when adding/removing geo) and also remove and add materials in nifskope.

So i'm not sure where you are having problems.

When I select vertices by material in BSdismemberskin, it selects different pieces by different mat ids (four of them). That crashes the exporter which means I can't remove them in nifskope because there is no nif to open. When I deleted all materials via a script in the past, BSDS would then select all the vertices by the first id which would mean there's only 1 material and the nif would save.
