sims teleporting instead of walking?

been having this issue for quite some time now, but i only recently figured out that it's because of wickedwhims. 

 

whenever i command my sims to go somewhere or perform an action, they take a step or two, then get frozen and end up teleporting to where i told them to go.

 

i tried to look for people who may have had this same problem but i've only found a single thread on reddit that didn't really get a solution.
