Wickedwhims is sad

So I think it was maybe like last month or two where I noticed I kept getting a pop-up saying "WickedWhims is sad :(" but it didn't and doesn't say why it is, I didn't really look into it because most of the time I kinda just create sims or furnish houses etc and at first it didn't seem to cause anything wrong. But later on (recently) I seen that I was actually missing a portion of the interaction bubbles that were related to ww but also regular ones I'm pretty sure. I also started to see that the bodies, mainly the female bodies were hella glitched. I thought it might've been my CC or maybe sliders so I did the 50/50 with everything I have in my mods folder, which is a lot because my mods folder is huge but that didn't help and it was still giving me the same pop-up. My mods are usually also always up to date, especially ww. 

 

Some of the things that I've done includes:

Reinstalling ww

Taking out the animations, meshes and props I had installed for ww incase it was those causing but again, didn't seem to be that (and updated any I could)

Reinstalled sims itself

Tried ww on a new save incase my current was corrupted but it wasn't that

Tried searching for any copies I had of any ww file but none

Did any batch fix I could with simstudios, but that was mainly the beds one just incase

Tried repairing my game also but it kinda just seemed like it made it 10x worse and it lagged my pc and the game to the max

Tried the last exception assistant but that never finds me anything other than "Unknown error"

Tried playing sims with just ww and it still gave me the pop up

 

Searched for the following files - Azmodan22_UpdatedRig.package, Denton47_Rigs.package, NANDONG_yfHeadDefault.package, NANDONG_ymHeadDefault.package, NANDONG_yfHead Default Replacement without EA Eyelash.package, NANDONG_ymHead Default Replacement without EA Eyelash.package, NANDONG_OverideSliderHeadJawMouthForTongueCompability.package, TongueDefaultFurryRerigLV.package and clientdeltabuild0.package - I don't have any of those files or any rig files. I have honestly searched my files top to bottom for the past few days 

 

From what I can see it's only ww that isn't working properly, maybe I'm just hella blind and not seeing what's wrong but I'm at a lost for words cause I've tried everything I could think of/ find. My game is fine without ww, so it's definitely the mod, it'd be a shame for it to just never work anymore for me.

Do you have WickedWhims Log file in your Sims 4 folder? You can upload that so we can look and check if there's any issue.

 

Also if you have MCCC you can upload MCCC exception (if it's created).

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I was having the same issues. I found that when I ran a batch file in sims4 studio (to disallow CC for random NPC) it modified the WW script file, which gave me the wicked whims is sad message. I replaced the wicked whims script file and the problem corrected itself. I originally was marking my entire mod folder for the sims4 studio scan, now I keep a separate folder (2023 test) with any new downloads and mark the 2023 test folder to be scanned by sims4 studio specifically and I haven't had the sad message since then. Hope that helps.

Yeah my game updates automatically and then I usually take out any mods that are bugged due to the new update and download the new updated ones. I don't usually check for any updated CC unless I see that it's bugged

I only recently used the sims4 studio actually, just to do the bed fix just incase that was causing it, opened the game, seen I still got the pop up and reinstalled both the ww files but even then it still gave me the pop up. Like I've probably installed ww a few times the past couple of days with everything I've tried trying to fix it and nothing

So maybe check all your script files for what packs they require. Maybe one is conflicting with WW because of missing pack it requires?

 

Also silly question just in case: did you delete localthumbnailcatche and avatarcatche each time after making changes in Mods?

Removed all duplicates that I could find because for some reason I couldn't find some of them, and deleted both caches before opening the game

Looked into the mods that I have already which aren't that many and it doesn't seem like I'm missing any expansion packs etc. But then I also removed all mods and any that were scripts just incase and again deleted both caches again and it still gave me the sad pop up. 

And noo dw it's not a silly question sometimes I forget to delete those files after making changes but I have been doing it constantly whilst I've been tryna fix it the last couple days

Last question: do you maybe have one drive linked to dowuments? Sometimes it's messing people games, cause it keeps restoring deleted files.

Yeah I'm honestly left baffled myself, and unfortunately I do have one drive, so it could be that actually but I'm so paranoid to even touch it incase everything just gets deleted as that happened to a friend once but I'll have a look today

Still, you should reinstall the game and your mods in a normal unit to avoid issues in the future. If you are worried about losing stuff simply make a backup just in case something goes horribly wrong ?.

In case that does not solve the issue (although it seems to be the culprit) check other basic stuff that sometimes we all miss, such as make sure you have both script and custom content allowed in game settings, make the script file from ww is no more than one folder deep inside the mods folder, and check if you are using a defective (or old) translation file for wicked whims (specially if you are not playing the game in english or if you are using an "unconventional" version of sims 4 that you got somewhere (some of those versions include weird stuff sometimes)). Those are very obvious things but it might be easy to miss it sometimes, and all of them can cause the very same issue you have now. 

Also, make sure to test it with only wicked whims installed, only the tuning and the script file, both right inside mods folder without subfolder. That means no custom content, completely empty mods folder. Sorry if you already did that, I do not see it in all the troubleshooting you have already done. 

 

Omg tysm! I wasn't 100% sure about deleting the ww saves folder because all the files in there said not to be deleted and I don't usually mess with stuff like that but it worked!

I had the same problem but even when I deleted the save folders it didn't help it turned out that I had a duplicate wicked wihims files in one of the mods the best way is to delete the wickedwihims mod then copy the name of one of the mod files then in the windows search engine and paste the name this way it will show you where exactly this file is and delete it if it still doesn't work it means that you have more duplicates than just in one folder you can always copy the name of one mod file then another and look if there is no duplicate somewhere and deleting it helped me
