Can someone help me with this?

I'm having this issue with some npcs, not all so far just 2-3. I thought it may have been a missing texture or some form of collision but as far as I can tell its not reporting either error of course I could be looking in the wrong spot, its not game breaking just mildly annoying. Any help would be appreciated

looks like a problem with the lighting to me.

No idea what they have installed to change the vanilla system.

if others are to help you - a list of your installed mod would certainly be very helpful

here's the load order

Looks a bit like a broken mesh, possibly where the _0 and _1 nifs don't match.  This can make vertex explosions happen (something like what you're seeing there).  Easy enough to test it out using console commands.

 

Open console

Target the NPC

type "unequipall"

 

If the problem disappears then it is a bad set of meshes on the clothing.  If not, then it is something else.

Well - I assume that you installed the mod "Lux" to change the lighting of the "normal" game.

That obviously didn't work correctly?

Did you ask for help on the Nexus mod page - where the mod is hosted?

Did the game work WITHOUT this mod group?

Did they even test the game after installing individual mod groups?

I've tried turning off the lighting mod it didnt fix it, and also tried the console to unequip and remove all items it didn't work either

The error may be in the save file itself at this point.  It is better to test in a new game.  Try turning it off, starting a new game, and (since you have Alternate Start mod installed) start in Whiterun and go and see if the problem is fixed. 

 

If it is fixed then that gives you start on solving the problem.  If it isn't then the Lux mod wouldn't seem to be the problem.

 

I don't know if the Lux mod is the problem, it's my first guess but I don't use ENB or lighting mods.

I did start a new game and the problem still happened, did some tinkering around and testing the mods individually to see what could cause the issue, turns out to be some error with beards of power mesh probably some incorrect file while downloading. Thanks everyone

It may not be this specific case, but there are some lights that don’t have a full 360 degree coverage. They are usually rotated so the gaps do not show, but a mod can move them and reveal the problem. The clear light/dark edge here matches the symptom.
