It is a sad thing that LYJ has left for the time being. I'm actually still waiting for Chino's cheongsam mod, but apparently we won't be seeing this (and maybe other skins) for a while. Looking forward to his return, but we lost him before the storm passed.
Modders hate scalping, and it's clear that LYJ has angered those who profit from stealing the fruits of their labor. So he was reported by these groups (just a guess) and had to delete all channels to avoid jail time. Maybe we've lost the only author who will consistently make SNB mods.

Plenty of paid mods have been shared here already, it's a bit late to get pious. If you don't like seeing modder's premium stuff being shared, well, the door is thataway.

If you don't want to share his mods, that's cool. Totally respect that. Your girl scout badge is in the post. (and I didn't see anyone forcing you to share, btw?)

But, if you don't want to share, just mind your business, move on, and let some less saintly forum user share them instead. If people don't ask occasionally, then people who are willing to share, won't know there is demand or who to share with.

 

It's also worth noting, that asking for premium mods to be DM'd actually protects the buyer from being caught sharing and to some extent protects the creators profits. If the mods are only shared to those who ask for them, less people are getting the mod free than just sticking the files on a site for everyone to take.

 

I make mods for Skyrim and a few other games. All of which I release totally free on Nexus, even though they take me hours or days to make. All I ask for is totally optional donations, if people like my work.

I could argue that modding Snowbreak is actually against the terms of the game itself, and monetizing said rule break makes that "crime" even worse, but I won't, because I'm not a petty tool. That said, I won't pity content creators who get their T&C breaking paywall mods ripped off, when other creators are making the same effort for free.

A handful of sharers on this forum won't exactly bankrupt patreon creators. They still make money for what is essentially a hobby.

 

If you don't want to argue, maybe don't whine about people requesting mods on a mod sharing forum? Just a thought.

I think you are right and I admire the Nexus modders just like you. You are all heros and make the game better and more enioyable. Not everyone have so much money that may cost 5 dollars to buy some mods, so it is the meaning that why these website exist. It's OK for them to set the higher price in the meanwhile it makes the modders who share mods for free more lovely. You are so enlightened and thanks for your devote! Praise the Lord.

That's exactly what I say/think, I do agree on the part of moders to work on something and not profit does not sound too good if you intend of doing it as a side hussle, not everyone are like you and release for free just for the love of it, so why is it so bad for people for asking for someone to share them privately in a sharing forum no less, we do not represent losses for the creators as we were not customers in the 1st place.

 

Also let me add something that might rock non-first world people... USD prices in other countries are dumb af, and the argument of "then don't play the game if you're poor" is simply dumb, 1st; it's a f2p game so there's no entry barrier to play, and 2nd for many (me included more often than I'd like) we have to pick, buy the mod or the skin, so yeah...

 

So yeah I +1 on the is anyone sharing mods?, I'd apreciate it.

1) You don't know what the word pious means.

 

2) No one is sharing LYJ's stuff here. I'm not complaining because I don't want it to be shared. I'm complaining because people keep bumping this thread and asking, and every time I load it up hoping to see a new mod, it's yet another person wasting my time.

...Seems to me like you might have a tiny bit of an issue with paid mod sharing.

 

3) It's good that you understand facetious sarcasm.  Truthfully though. You do you. You paid for the the mods. You get to decide if you share or not. I do respect that, but maybe ease off on the, "boohoo, won't somebody think of the poor creators???". None of us requesting his mods are going to buy them, so he hasn't lost customers, even if we get given the mods for free. Also, LYJ just got banned, so the ONLY way to get them currently (afaik), is by having them shared. So, strap-in for more bumping.

 

4) I wasn't going to mention it, but given you wrongly tried to school me on language...I don't think you know what "necroing" means?

(FYI, it's widely accepted that it's the act of bumping a thread that has been totally dormant for more than a month. Many would argue, much longer. I'd say 6+ months, personally. Pretty sure this thread has been fairly active, even without LYJ requests).

 

5) Let's maybe stop bumping the thread with non mod request related arguing? I wouldn't want to you to get upset about having to waste a whole 30 seconds of your life, clicking on an active thread that gets bumped by conversation anyway!!!

It could be that a parent reported his page after finding their kid using his mods. A lot of adult gaming content gets banned that way. Even big game companies have had to roll out patches to remove nudity, or censor clothing because of angry parents.

There are also just petty people who like being angry, so they search out content they don't like and report it. I used to make adult fanart pinups on photoshop (before A.I made it pointless) and I'd get my pictures taken off Deviantart regularly. All because some dimwit who couldn't work an adult filter (or didn't want to so they could whine) would report me for not pixelating the naughty bits enough, or some crap. I'd have to edit and repost a lot of my pictures.

 

Killing LYJ's patreon is actually counter productive for scalpers, because if he isn't making mods, they can't steal and redistribute them for personal gain.

 

He'll likely move his mods to a new platform in the near future.
