What causes Player Char to hang/not animate

I'm noticing with repetitive SL scenes, one after another through dialogue. [Troubles of heroine] That my Player character often does not animate, but will position. Whilst the NPC does animate.

What causes this issue the most? SLSO or Apropos maybe? I check the logs, and I don't see errors. Just script lag?
