Looking to try moding

It has been cool trying out the mods everyone has contribute here and I feel like I have some ideas to try. If anyone has advice on how to learn modding CK3 (traits, event chains etc) I would be happy to hear it. All I really know at the moment is I need something like note pad +. Also how easy is it to make your mod use features introduced in Carnalitas?

Notepad ++ in tandem with Astrogrep (both open source, therefore free to use) are my go-to tools for modifying my game(s). Other than that, start to study moods that introduce only a few features to see which files need to me utilized and how. Hope this helps a small amount for you... (edit: Astrogrep is a text-based file search program to look for matching strings within an entire directory and its sub-directories)

Most of the adult modding community is found on Cheri's Discord server by now. You can find the link towards the top of the Carnalitas page.

You might have a better chance at getting advice, tips, and tricks over there, since many modders are showing more activity on Discord than on the forum.

 

As for general advice, yes, something like Notepad++ is sufficient for many types of mods. Only when you go into modding audio or graphics or similar will you need more. The official CK3 wiki has pages on Modding and Modding Tools that can give you a starter. There are videos on YouTube made by the community, too. The Carnalitas mod page also has a link to the Carnalitas wiki, where you can find explanations on how to implement scenes etc. using the features Carnalitas itself provides.

I don't want to give everything away (because hopefully over time it will all be finished) but I want to start with Milf content. I actually already created the first trait, but I am having difficulty with creating an event to grant it.
