MrComplex Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Hi im attempting to make my own outfit for skyrim by putting a bunch of nif meshes together in one torso, so far i have started with a bikini and attempted to put in some leggings can anyone tell me why the leggings in the attached file will not display on my character in game I believe the texture paths for the legging meshes are correct as the leggings display fine in game in the menu they just wont show up on my character, the leggings are from a compilation mod that allows you to mix and match in game. there must be a step i am missing to get them to display in game. i am reasonably experienced in making mods i have been splicing my own outfits together in oblivion and the fallout series regards Mrcomplex Main_0.nif
Guest carywinton Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 This may be a near silly obvious answer, but are the leggings and bikini in their inventory? Or is this an actual body and clothes combined clothing piece? When I open up your *.nif, I do see the paths to the textures seem to be correct, I see the bikini mesh , but no leggings mesh. Obviously I do not see the textures since the files are not in the directories on my system. I hope that may help you track it down some. Kind Regards, CaryWinton
Vioxsis Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Change BSDismemberSkinInstance partition from 60 to 32
MrComplex Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 Vioxsis you genius thats done it Thanks very much i knew it was going to be one little thing
Guest carywinton Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 @ Vioxsis Well done! See I knew hanging around here and watching these topics would start paying off, not sure what that change in value meant, but I like it! I do know it has something to do with what happens when it blows up, obviously and how it should appear afterwards.
Vioxsis Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 That value is how skyrim dismembers body parts, the value in the nif has to match the value set in the creation kit. For the ArmourAddon and the armour entry. You can see in the picture of nifskope that the numbers match with the ones in the CK. if they aren't the same the mesh will be invisible in game, you can use this to prevent clipping. And some BSDismemberSkinInstance partition are used to disable some game effects (like self shadowing)
