Elizinator
im hoping someone can point me towards a tutorial or general guideline for this: im trying to apply tattoo textures to my character, and succeeding easily sort of. i use the high-rez skin textures for HGEC. so far, actually, the only problem ive had is that is very difficult to get the tattoos placed correctly. i have to go through the trial of exporting, loading the game, seeing if they fit, and then making minute adjustments from memory more or less. is there a better way? am i missing something? fejeena
You can watch the Tattoo in NifSkope. Use a full Body, change the textues path to your Tattoo dds. In NifSkope you can also watch the UV map Placement. Here a full Body mesh full body.nif Change upper or lowerbody if you use bigger ass or tits. My new Sadran-race Character. Some hours work to place, Change, adjust all Tattoos. No Tattoos under the feet Link to comment
Elizinator
yeah, i tried nifscope, but im certainly no expert at it, and i couldnt find any way to apply a texture to the wireframe Link to comment
WrythePhokas
This has been bugging me as well, but I found a solution at the Nexus forums. And I quote: "Since "Auto-Detect" doesn't work yet for Skyrim and I reinstalled and uninstalled so many copies of Nifskope, I had it working at one point. I set the RENDER->Settings Texture Path to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\Texture----Looks Right when you think about it Right? With that path you really wind up with the program looking for this C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\textures\textures\actors\character\female\FemaleBody_1.dds See something wrong up there??? It thinks there's a TEXTURES FOLDER IN THE TEXTURES FOLDER This line is all you need for it to find textures in your game folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data " Link to comment
fejeena
It is Oblivion not Skyrim. Auto-Detect works fine But you must change the texture path in the Nif. If you have a Imperial Skin the path must be: for Body and foot; textures\characters\imperial\female\footfemale.dds for the Hands; textures\characters\imperial\female\handfemale.dds head; textures\characters\Imperial\HeadHuman.dds e.g.Moonshadow Elves Body: textures\characters\Moonshadow Elves\Body\MoonshadowFoot.dds Hand: textures\characters\Moonshadow Elves\Body\MoonshadowHand.dds Head: textures\characters\Moonshadow Elves\Head\MoonshadowFace_(NoTattoo).dds or MoonshadowFace.dds 1. right click the texture path 2. click choose 3. select the dds file you want. fejeena
by the way the guy who wrote the Tips is stupid. NEVER install a game in C:\Program Files (x86) that only causes Problems. Every few days you can read it in a "I have Problems" thread. I can not understand why someone install a game in C. C is Windows ! If your Windows crash and you must clear C and reinstall Windows your game is lost. My games, O Mods and save games are not in C. I installed my game when I had XP, then installed Win7, I only installed Oblivion and Shivering Isles starts the game and it's works. Link to comment
Elizinator
working on some cool tattoos now, really hating the seams on this skin. runs right down the top of the arm, so cool shoulder tattoos are damn near impossible. in that, skyrim was superior. other than that, going well. this is way less tedious than the old system. thanks a ton Link to comment
