Help Building A New PC

So I'm using ancient parts

-ASRock Z97 Anniversary MOBO

-EVGA GTX 1660 6GB GPU

-16GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM

-i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core CPU

-EVGA 500W 80+ Gold PSU

-Windows 10 64-bit OS

and I need to upgrade but I'm not sure if these parts will be good/work together.

-AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-Core 12-Thread

-Gigabyte A520M S2H

-Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3600MHz

I just need a 'modern' PC so I can use Windows 11 eventually by 2025 and of course play 'modern' games. I'm at the point I can't run anything. Especially Windows 11 isn't possible right now due to my ancient CPU.

I plan on using my GPU, PSU, and SSDs and case with the new parts. I figure this would be more cost effective as a GPU can be easily upgraded down the line and isn't something that will hold me back like a CPU.

You can use your old gpu. For sure it is not a top one but it is a fairly good card. The PSU is OK if you keep this card (the new cpu and mb will not require a huge amount of power.) If you already have a ssd then keep it, the difference in performance for a new one will be not really noticeable.

I think one big difference will be made by the new type of ram that is way faster than ddr3

Yes that would. But I'd save 10 bucks on diffrent ram and get a B series board. For 4 ram slots for future proofing in case you need to upgrade to 32 gb. And B series unlocks overclocking.

Estimate wattage 400W. Your psu is fine.
