Consitent constant crashing in Solitude

I've tried just about all my limited expertise could afford me (Clean saves, disabling mods etc...), and no matter what I do, I always crash after ~30sec-1 minute in Solitude, its not area specific either, it happens everywhere in Solitude. This happens like clockwork after the opening execution when you enter the city (around a minute afterwards). I can wait 24 hours / move in and out of buildings but after a minute or so in the open city, even if I'm not touching my keyboard it will crash.

GPU / CPU temps aren't going over 130 Celsius either.

If anyone has any advice / experience with something like this, any kind of help is appreciated.

Have you tried to "verify the cache" for your game? There might be something missing from the main game that is causing crashing expecially if you have disabled all the mods and are running a clean save (at the same time)

ya I did, I guess I'm really just hoping someone had a similar problem and found the issue already. The last resort is going through each an every mod and disable/enable them and test them out till I find the problem, which will probably take 3+ hours.

Sorry I am running an almost unmodded Skyrim. I know of the issues you mention from Fallout and to some degree Oblivion however the results are different (different body separations)

I would check the descriptions of the mods you are using... There is bound to be only a few that specifically target Solitude. However unfortunately someone might of made a mistake and edited something in Solitude and didn't fix it back and that is conflicting with other mods.

There still might be some hope that someone else with some of your mods might be able to shed some light on your issue. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help. :(

EDIT

Oh if you do find the issue please post back here it might help others ;)

After doing some mod cleaning in TES5 Edit the crash frequency has lessened, its still a problem but not as game breaking as it was before.

The only thing I can think of is the game (via a mod) is trying to spawn an NPC, or an NPC is trying to do an action which causes a fatal crash.

Yea, there must be some mod making changes to an NPC or even an event that is causing some system hangup, perhaps waiting for a response. I am not a modder and you working with TES5 edit means you understand more modding than I. ( I am starting to understand more and more every day) The info is a general direction based on the same problems with mods and games I have played in the past. Somewhere some bad script is running causing havoc causing you to hangup and crash.

Now that you have cleaned mods perhaps disable all of them, create a clean save right before the solitude entry where you know it is safe. and run each mod (or group of mods if some requires others to run) until you find the little bastard that is causing this. Then you can perhaps even fix the issue with TES5edit or creation engine and let the mod author know of their mods issue.

I know that can be a great deal of work but you will eventually rule out the problem mod. I have done so in the past and on some occasions even had the needed info to help the mod author fix the issue and I was able to continue with using the mod. On one occasion I was able to find the issue and even fix it myself then informed the mod author with the exact issues so that they can fix it if they choose to.

Mods wich could cause the conflict but don't have to. I'm just guessing based on your mods. Post your papyrus.log(s).

  • HentaiPregnancy, HPSoulGemBirth
  • FM - HaafingarHall
  • SexLabWorkingGirl and MF_RadiantProstitution. Do they work together?
  • Inconsequential NPCs (there are my some conflicts betwen your mods)
  • SPTDiverseGuardsSkyrim
  • Footprints
  • ApachiiHair (OldVersions) and other High Polygon Hair. (It can cause crashes only in Solitude, don't ask me why!)
