Animations do not work without TrueCrimeEX

Hiya folks.  Don't normally like to make support threads, but I cannot for the life of me figure this one out.

 

I recently completed a rather massive mod installation, and after a bit of tweaking in-game, decided I didn't want LoversTrueCrimeEX or LoversRaperS active.  Disabling them didn't cause any problems at first; game still played just fine.  However, upon being confronted by a highwayman and gettin' it on through LoversPayBandit, animations did not play; the two got naked and sound effects played, but no animation.  Interestingly, I was able to switch poses with the grab key like usual, and I could see the sprites changing initial positions for each, but still no animations.  I tried starting a new game but the problem persisted, even when summoning a creature from LoversCreature.  I tried re-enabling LoversRaperS and it still did not solve the problem, but re-enabling LoversTrueCrimeEX did; animations played normal for everyone, in every situation.

 

Problem is, I don't want to USE TrueCrimeEX.  I play a male, and I don't really wants hordes of bandits on the road if I CAN'T get screwed by them (its download page says the bandits only rape females; if this is incorrect, please let me know and/or edit that!).  So I tried a fresh install of Oblivion, re-modded everything, made a point not to add the files for RaperS or TrueCrimeEX in case lingering inis might be causing it, started a new game....and animations still don't play.  And again, re-installing TrueCrimeEX allows the animations to play.  So I'm at a bit of a loss.

 

A few other notes:

- Animations do not play regardless whether the act is consensual or not.

- There are no errors on the console in-game during sex.

- Normal gameplay resumes once sex has been completed; characters do not lock in place, the game does not freeze or crash.

- Technically I didn't do a complete fresh install, just cleared the Data folder.  I restored it from a backup I made which only had some OBSE plugins, the UOPs and DarNified UI installed.  There was no Lovers-related content in the games/Oblivion folder, so I left it alone.

- OBSE v0020, plugins are: Pluggy v125, Universal Silent Voice v0.93, MenuQue v16a, Custom Spell Icons v3.1 & Fast Exit 2.  And whatever the latest version of Better Cities adds, apparently.

- Using v3 of Lovers Resources w/ BBB animation pack, with Lovers Creature installed afterward.

- Using Growlf's Skeleton, controllable version.

- Using lots of mods, but I'm below the 255 limit (BOSS reports 232 total).  I never understood Wrye, so I've never used it, but never needed to.

Well for starters, true crime ex is still in your load order.  Disable or delete the esp for it and then start a new game.

 

If you just disable the esp and didn't start a new game then the scripts for true crime are still in your existing saved game.

 

 

Additionally all the CM partners and companion plugins crap should be should be up above your lovers plugin and not below them.  Having them at the bottom of your load order just invites possible scripting conflicts.

I'm just showing where TrueCrimeEX WAS in the load order; as I said above, I started a new game with the esp disabled and animations still didn't play.

 

As for CM Partners, well....I'll give it a shot, but I don't think that's the problem here.  If animations are working fine with TrueCrimeEX active, and it's above the CM Partners esps like all my other Lovers plugins (bar the two AnimObjects), that doesn't seem like a scripting conflict to me.  Unless you're saying it might cause OTHER problems, in which case, okay.

Your issue has more to do with you installing incompatible plugins than whether true crime is or is not enabled.

 

Eroblivion.esp  - this is most likely your culprit to LPK animations not working.  You absolutely can NOT have multiple sex system mods running at one time or you risk all sorts of chaos.  Get rid of Eroblivion, start a new game and all your issues will likely go away.

I'd actually already tried disabling Eroblivion before I restored data, but I'll give it another go now.

 

....Nnnnnnnnope.  Still the same problem, after moving all Lovers esps below CM Partner esps and disabling Eroblivion.

 

Also, happens regardless of PC's gender (just checked).

 

 

EDIT:  Gonna try installing Lovers on a Data folder backup to determine if it's a mod compatibility issue or a problem with Lovers itself.

The only two things it can possibly be are:

1. Some type of compatibility issue with another mod.

2. Something overwritten or missing due to an incorrect installation.

 

Tens of thousands of folks are running lovers with no issues, so the problem isn't coming from LPK itself.

Nono, I didn't mean with Lovers itself, I meant my installation of Lovers.  Sorry 'bout that.

 

At any rate, I found the culprit after methodically going through my esp list with the link you provided:  Personality Idles 2.  Hadn't realized I had it installed; looks like it's packaged in with Oblivion Pose Pack 3.  Once I disabled that, everything started running fine.

 

Rather interesting that TrueCrimeEX "patches" that incompatibility, though.  o_o  At any rate, thanks for the help!

True crime makes direct animation calls so that may have been why it was able to function when all other animations were being blocked.  Hard to say.

Plugin conflicts are nasty and very difficult to hunt down.  They are even worse to fix.
