Worlds and saves....

Hey guys, i just downloaded a save file, plus a shitload of cc from a user here on LL.  It is Mrrakkons world.  Apparently, it is a fairly immense project.  I was considering undertaking something similar here. I can contruct a world, after i see how his works, that we can all download here, that will contain all the tray files that are submitted here. As we gain new tray files for wives and simselves, we can add them to the save, reupload here, along with whatever cc they need.  I want to play mrrakkons world for a couple days and see how it works.  Its only a gb or so more than my own mods folder, so it shouldnt take too much longer to load than it already does..ill report my findings back in a couple days.  Leave your comments and suggestions here....

Its a nice idea, there w3as a lot of stuff in there that I don't have or want, but as an idea it would have to be one of the base neighbourhoods in case people don't have the needed expansion packs.

Plus of course the various venues may not be suitable or people may have better options.

Well, one thing i found, when i added all my animations. WW, and other essential packs. mccc, etc. My mods folder was well over 35 gb, took forever to load, and lagged pretty bad. As mentioned., there is a lot of cc that you just really dont need, and unless you have a high end gaming rig., will lag.  I have a low end gaming rig, and it just doesnt have the cock n balls to meet the requirements of that world .  I'll put it on an ss drive and save it for later, when i have a better laptop.

Why not save it to cloud storage?? This way we can fill it with our own stuff as we go along while you finish things on your end

Plus, should a little thing like life somehow get in the way as it has with @Ksuihuh, we'd be stuck waiting until you get back

I don't think thats a solution really, given the huge size of the mods & custom buildings in the save, It would be simpler just to add the files as needed or wanted to our own worlds, Theres no real problem with "crossover" posts after all.

I have downloaded mrrakkon's world, and played it briefly, well the bits that are compatible with my content, I spent a lot of time clearing up missing items, broken meshes & textures I don't want, for example I can't access the standard eyes anymore as the eyes panel is now so full of custom eyeshades some of which are just basic variations. I spent over an hour this week deleting broken\invalid\duplicate files. I'm back down to just under 10gb.

I have about decided the same.  Perhaps we could link here some custom things like the dollar general i shared a while back. I had to take it out as it was just huge, caused the game to lag.  It served its purpose, and was fun.  Or just share hard to find custom bits, giving credit to the creator of course, unless its patreon stuff, then dont share it.

Yeah, just downloaded a couple of new sims, just single sims, and find a whole new bunch of  duplicate sub directories with the same files, bloating my game files  by another 5% yet more stuff I either already have or don't wan't just stuffed into subfolders three or four deep on installation. So maybe 3 or four hours deleting the stuff I've already deleted three or four times before.

Please for peoples sanity just stick to one or at the max two folder deep as recommended.

Now back to your regular program while I delete the same file in five different folders again.

"Or just share hard to find custom bits, giving credit to the creator of course, unless its patreon stuff, then dont share it." Wise words, might be an idea to set up a channel for locations. eg shared lots. that people may want to use.

Personally I put a lot of effort into creating interesting locations & situations, some are not that easily shared because of the way I set them up, usually I try and use base game content  for locations , but its not always possible. A single photo shoot location is not always worth a the use of a whole lot (upload)

Remember too much custom stuff will ruin your game,

As for other creators, "Give credit where due or point to patreon links,
