MrGrey Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 TDESC files are the XML files that are most of the game. You get them from here: https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/categories/technical-discussions Very useful for making mods. They're templates. But you all knew that. Great huh? Not so with this last one. It's a two part Zip file for some stupid reason. Anyway, I downloaded both parts. Windows 10 can't open either file and 7z can only open the first one, and throws an error if you try and extract them all. It's apparently like a multipart RAR file, except a Zip. I expected half of the TDESC in one file, with the rest in the other. Oh no, can't do that, too simple! You can open those with Windows. What tool do I need to open this? I thought about asking on the EA website, but I've not posted there in a year and they have gone over the top on who can post, seems I gotta get "points" and be a member for a day and not just the 9 years.
mynewusername Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 i cat file together with: type 1.95.207.1030-TDESC-2.zip >> 1.95.207.1030-TDESC-1.zip is not proper multipart zip file, is just somebody saw file in half like flex tape boat. 1

Yes it seems part 2 was missing the header, i do not know why the did like this, it does not make any sense but oh well, IT IS EA ? If someone is on linux/unix you can use "cat" instead for the same result. Edited March 1, 2023 by LittleRedSonja
