This is a set of porn magazines, which can act as standalone or as add-on for the Magazines Rack mod.

 

INSTALLATION

Download the archive PornMagazinesMod_Vx.x and extract its content into your mod directory. If you already have a previous version of this mod installed, please either delete it or overwrite it with this new one.

 

THE MAGAZINES

The magazines don't need the magazines rack to work, they are completely independent. They can be bought in any bookshelf, and can be read/put in inventory/put away/studied/analyzed from anyone who is of the appropriate age. Magazines of different types may give different mood/buff/skill/liking/disliking preference while reading them.

Brilliant! Thank you! I actually have a strip club owned by Bella and Mortimer Goth that has a facade disguised as a book club. Both of your racks will be perfect for that venue!

Thanks, nice pictures in the magazines, would be nice as posters on the wall. My teens can read them - well maybe because i dont have new packs in my game.

Actually, magazine covers look more like erotic rather than porn. In my opinion, vintage porn magazines like Teenage Sex, Color Climax or Rodox would fit much better.

Most welcome. Actually the rack will work only in a Retail Shop Venue. I don't think it will allow you to restock the racks in a Generic Venue (used for Strip Club by WickedWhims). I'll check later, hadnt time to do it yet, as Im working on another project.

Didnt really want to do the posters, as there are millions of them. Wanted to do something more challenging so to speak

Thanks for the tip. True, modern porn magazines covers indeed look more like erotic than porn mags. The idea though was to create the modern magazines, with a collection of pics from each pornstar in the cover. I guess I will start working soon on vintage set as soon as im done with what im working on.

I have an idea in mind, which i tend to implement in the next version. Teen sims will be able to read the mags but only in sneaky mode (without being caught from parents) and be able to hide the mags.

Nope, only the rack needs it.

Sure thing. You will need sims4studio and an image editor like photoshop. You can create a Standalone Recolor in Sims4studio, and then modify the swatches and their textures. 

 

If you want your set to show as Restocking choice for the magazine rack, make new intances of both object_injector snippet tunning and the restock interaction tunning into your package.

I was just going to ask about that lol. As I mentioned before, though, the "bookstore" is only a false front for the stripclub and just works like a lounge area for Bella and Mort. No big deal.

I tried to make some changes to the venue allowances for the rack, so one can use and restock them in any venue, but cant sell the magazines as in a normal retail shop. And that would be pointless So, GTW and Retail Shop is a requirement for the modular version of the rack.

 

Anyway, I'm working on a bookshelf version of the Magazine Rack for those who dont have GTW or Retail Shop and that can be used in any lot. NPCs in your Strip Club should be able to pick and read magazines already stocked in the rack. Should be ready any minute now.

I noticed that page turn animations often result in the same image appearing on both the left and right pages.

Yeah, thats something i havent found a way to fix yet, it seems hard coded in the game. If your sim reads a toddler picture book, its the same thing.

I add my own magazines. To buy it there is no problem. But when my sims are done reading, he throws it on the floor and I can't interact anymore .

 

It's my servant who picks it up and puts it in the library

 

Any idea what I did wrong ? ?

Did you create a Standalone Recolor of the original set ?

I added palettes and changed the textures

That overrides the original set. You have to create a Standalone Recolor. You can copy the original set into your sims4studio mod folder (the path could be C:\Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Mods", but you will have to check for yourself where you installed sims4studio). And in sims4studio, check Standalone Recolor under Object, and then click Object. Next step select Custom under Content drop input, and select "Show debug items". After that select the original set that will show up, and you are good to go to create palettes and change the textures.
