futaslur Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 I don't know what to do, and surely I am breaking some rule that I haven't read about complaining, but I'm at wits end. I've got the load order set up, backed up, but for some reason since uninstalling and reinstalling, I can't seem to get MO2 to launch the creation kit anymore I've got to also go through the hassle of changing Master flags back and forth in order to get rid of Form 43 errors on several files and that takes several minutes each. I'm tired, I've dedicated a weekend, and several days after work just puzzling over these fucking mods and I can't get any of them running. Am I over complicating this? am I being bamboozled into thinking MO2 is the only way, or is the barrier to entry for figuring out how to configure all this just that high? Please, someone, help, send me a whole folder to replace my current one to make this easy, give me some known good anniversary edition or fresh vanilla downgrade patched tutorial compilation or something, i'm so done trying look, all the checkmarks are checked, and yet my fresh install of skyrims folder is just that: vanilla.

I draw the displeasure of some Usr here in the forum... ...but I don't really care -> keep your hands off "MO 2" and use -> "Vortex" to install and manage your mods "Vortex" certainly has its weaknesses, but on the other hand there is a significantly lower entry hurdle (than with "MO 2") to learn how to use this tool. About 1 year ago I thought about switching from "vortex - which I've been using for 2 years - to "MO 2"... ...but gave up quite frustrated after 2 weeks. I probably should have invested another 2-4 weeks in the necessary learning curve - I didn't want or couldn't spare the time. Especially since it was about a single problem - which could also be solved with "vortex"... ... although more complicated than with "MO 2" - just to get there - you have to master "MO 2"!

A word of advice, you don't actually need to do that cause SE can handle old esp files just fine. I used to waste my time doing that too until i realized it doesn't cause any problems. Now for the actual problem: 4 hours ago, futaslur said: I can't seem to get MO2 to launch the creation kit anymore You can either try to re-add the CK entry in MO2 or just reinstall CK altogether, if you're on steam it should be easy to do it from there. Report back on the results. Modding is frustrating to get into but it's just a matter of patience, you'll get it working.

Honestly, I've finally managed to do a full clean since this post and have opted for the Adult Collection from the Nexus page, and once I have that working, I can maybe work backwards if I'm not satisfied. 18 hours ago, Mr. Otaku said: A word of advice, you don't actually need to do that cause SE can handle old esp files just fine. Excellent advice, I shall give that a shot soon after if this adult collection fails me, I haven't used forums of any kind and am actually kind of surprised to see activity and peole with knowledge or experience coming forward to this day. real swell.
