Not sure if you're still interested in this, but I think the reason nobody has taken your request in over seven months is because the game just doesn't seem that good. The trailer shows a lot of flat terrain in what is very obviously *not* boss rooms, and when there is some jumping, the enemy placement doesn't appear very creative (like the wall of wasps at 0:41). Plus, the game is charging an exorbitant $15 USD for what little is on offer! The sheer, overwhelming number of higher-quality games that cost just as much--or are even cheaper--gives even the most forgiving players little reason to take a risk on an obscure title that is already not doing itself any favors in its advertisement (and the game was never even in a bundle!). I even checked its sales history, and it never went below 30% off despite its betters having even bigger discounts more regularly. Also, it's important to remember that part of the appeal of old games like Valis is their historical significance--the fact that they are old games in the first place--so just saying "inspired by Valis" isn't enough of a selling point. How does the game expand on what made that game popular? How does it improve on the game's faults? Why should I buy your game instead of (re)play the games that inspired it? To add insult to injury, the graphics--the part you're asking us to pay the most attention to--start to look awkward the more you focus on them. For a lot of it, you can't always put your finger on what the issue is, but then you've got stuff like the lady in sprCutscene2_1_0.png who has her thumbs on the wrong side of her hands. There's not even an in-game explanation for it; it's just wrong.

So yeah, that's why you didn't get anyone with great artistic skill to make a nude patch for this game; you got me instead. Yup, I saw that the game has a free demo, so I figured I'd test my mettle here before moving onto other pixel-art games, and I think it turned out okay. Full disclosure: I left their skirts so I wouldn't have to draw as much, but the protagonist has a hole cut in front of hers so her vagina is exposed. NPCs, however, are merely topless. I was also gonna make the protagonist completely barefoot, but then I realized I didn't feel like redrawing her feet to be flat on the ground, so I left the heel and drew a strap for some semblance of realism. Oh, and I didn't change sprDemoEnd_0.png because that isn't pixel art, and thus is beyond my capabilities.

Of course, the demo doesn't have everything, so if you like what you see and want me to do the rest of the game...you'll have to PM me the missing graphics or something because I'm not sold on the game, either.

See, although the demo has better level design than I anticipated, the game has other problems. For one, it's very easy to get blue and red attacks mixed up since it isn't intuitive for blue and red to be mapped to directions (and the tiny gems in the UI don't help because they're too out-of-the-way). I mixed them up enough that I added the button combinations to the pause menu in my patch (the original pause menu only shows color weaknesses). Plus, there's the issue that down+atk is red attack, but down+jump is forward slide, making it easy to slide into a pit by accident when you're trying to kill an airborne blue enemy. Oh, and if you slide below a low platform and your slide ends before you get out, you're stuck in ducking mode and are prevented from attacking entirely until you manage to slide out.

Then there's the rebound mechanic. The concept of being bounced back after attacking an enemy with its same color isn't an issue in itself, but in execution, you have to wait next to a pit you can't jump across, waiting for another enemy to spawn and shamble its way over to you before you can attack--and if you accidentally use the wrong color and kill it? More waiting. It's worse in level 2 because the amoebas can also spawn above the pit, meaning you can get hit and fall in the pit anyway if you try to rebound on the one that finally got into position.

Speaking of level 2, the snake-head miniboss took so many hits to die, I thought I was missing something and tried attacking the head directly instead of just attacking its bullets...and I got knocked past its wall because that wall has no collision. When I kept going, I reached the next room, but the camera was stuck like this until an enemy killed me:

vw.png.ae34ad8f5cc5cf91b4e542dd4222d038.png

But that's not all! Once the camera righted itself, I soon found myself in an area where the game expected me to rebound upward by attacking an enemy from above, except the game only has forward attacks (the up/down combo only changes the attack's color). I did try doing a forward attack while falling on it, but that just caused me to keep falling into the enemy and take damage. I looked up a longplay just to confirm this was, in fact, what I was supposed to do (I also checked the miniboss while I was at it, and it turns out you really do just have to hit its projectiles a bunch of times). Once I got the timing down, it wasn't too bad, but it did take some trial and error to get there.

However, by far my biggest complaint with the game is the continue system. Rooms are already pretty long, so dying to something like the snake miniboss in stage 2 means you have to redo a lot of what you already got past just for another shot at what killed you. Plus, if you get game over, you're sent all the way back to the start of the level, exacerbating the issue. Worse still, the game has LIMITED CONTINUES!! In 2023! There's only five continues and no save feature, and although I didn't run out in the demo, I can only presume this means that running out would send you back to the beginning of the game. That. is. not. fun. Having to redo a bunch of stuff you've already cleared successfully just for another chance at where you messed up isn't fun. Having to play the entire game in one sitting, even if you manage to beat it--even if the game is good--just puts a damper on things because you can't take a break without leaving your system on; you have to play the game on the game's terms for no reason. For real, the limited continue system in console titles was a relic of arcades even back then, and stuff like that are a large part of why emulators have save states.

Anyway, my nude patch for the demo is attached to this post for anyone who wants to try it out themselves. I'm not submitting it to the main site since it's just for the demo, not the full game (though I don't see why it wouldn't work with the full game; it just won't affect cutscenes after level 2).

@Imaynotbehere4long hey, just read your comment and decided to buy the game just to send you the files. They may not work for you since its the steam version, but u can use it to get the full game's sprites and art.

Always love helping modders do their thing. Cheers man.

Oh gosh! You didn't have to do that! I only brought that detail up in case h4m4n, the requester, still wanted it. After all, h4m4n presumably already owns the game and thus could test if the patch works without any of us having to put money down.

When testing the patch on the demo, I ran the game's exe directly and it didn't bring up Steam, so I'd imagine it should work. Of course, Google Drive is saying I need permission before I can access the files, so I don't have it downloaded yet. Does LoversLab really not have a Private Messaging system for this kind of thing? Okay, looks like it does; I'm just curious why you're doing it in this roundabout way instead of just attaching the files to a PM.

Yeah i completely forgot. Probably should have PM'ed you.

@tigersOkay, I got it downloaded, and it seems to work fine. You can go ahead and refund the game so you can buy three or four better games.

vw2.jpg.b020abb9642b19c6cf8aeb3ecd537d78.jpg

By the way, to all the Violet Wisteria fans on this site: it'll probably be a while before the patch for the full game gets released. Even if I get all the graphics done in a week or two (EDIT: which is looking less and less likely, sorry), I still need to set enough time aside to test the patch...and then I might have to set aside another day if I run out of continues.

And I never thought I'm gonna get a comment in my first post eventually, but cheers lad.

So more information, I buy the full game, so installing the nude patch demo version won't do the trick.

I think I'll wait for the full version patch, just take it easy.

Cheers.

It's not done--not nearly. This is just an update post because I didn't wanna go radio-silent for too long, and it's always good to have a backup in case something happens.

Okay, so: while working on the demo's patch, I told myself that on the off-chance I ever got access to the full game's files, I wouldn't take so many shortcuts on the main patch. So, after I made this thread reporting UndertaleModTool's graphics-importing problem, I went about removing the last bit of shoe from the player sprites. It ended up not being as intrusive as I initially thought (her standing sprite and 2/6 running sprites were lowered by two pixels), but then again, I haven't tested them in-game; I'll wait til everything else is done before seeing how they import. Also, for her spell-casting sprites, I had trouble redrawing her back foot, so for now, it's just an animation of her getting back on her toes (I might change this later):

image.png.d6d870e52be33974309cd5ef0a02564c.png image.png.1981acfadee551b0c5b22cccdaac002f.png

Next, I set about removing the skirt from the Harp Lady statue. I also fixed its broken, twisted index finger, which was something that bothered me about the original sprite. Due to pixel and palette limitations, I wasn't able to get the vagina to be open/aroused, but I still think it turned out okay:

image.png.7313dc0db68a8670cff673abf39a2cc4.png

(you might notice some blurry/transparent pixels on what's supposed to be a 16-bit sprite. Those were there from the beginning; I didn't add them)

Then, I moved onto the NPCs in the cutscenes, starting with sprOpening3_0, the one that's chronologically first. Not only did I remove the guards' shoulder-frills, I also removed their skirts so you get a clear view of their vaginas as well (not just their boobs). I left their armbands and waistbands because they're not harming anything.

sprOpening3_0a.png.61f09fed9c9c3251a96c3eaacca39da2.png                    sprOpening3_0b.png.48a33a20ca585a2d80a4b395c6a6f6b0.png

I also shrank their bellybuttons because I didn't want them to clip into their belts, but looking back at it, I might tweak that some more later.

After this was sprCutscene2_1_0, and though I admit I brought a lot of extra work onto myself, this one still took me a while. See, the original sprite has their arms go right over where their nipples would be, which would kinda defeat the point of a nude patch in the first place, so of course I was gonna redraw their arms (well, for that reason and because their hands already needed a redraw). However, as mentioned previously, I also wanted to keep their armbands, yet the pixel art-style prevented a simple rotation since that would blur the sprites. The end result: I have about 3-4 different abandoned poses for Grey Hair before finally settling on the one I should've used from the beginning. Blondie ended up having it worse because even though the arms rotated just fine, her body was overly squished and needed a redraw....problem is, I'm not that great an artist.

image.png.cb80c5a2dfa3634bf6be5d19f96c1f7f.png

I've been going back and tweaking this one every now and then, but I still can't quite get it looking right. That said, just now making this post, I think I have some idea what I can do by using sprOpening3_0 as reference material, so all hope is not lost.

Surprisingly (to me, at least), the guards only appear in one more cutscene after the demo: sprCutscene8_1_0. They also have their arms go over their nipples again, so I took a break and worked on sprEnding3_0 instead--the only other cutscene to feature non-player female characters. They're also super low-res in this one, making it way easier to get proportions right. Also, the character on the left might've been male since no other female character in this game wears pants, but don't worry; I changed it:

image.png.8b74ed01c950e26124ebff2200848015.png

Was it even worth uploading this one?

Okay okay, back to sprCutscene8_1_0. Here, the guards are smaller than previous cutscenes, and thank goodness because I needed to alter their arm poses more, and fewer pixels means fewer areas to screw up. As of this writing, Blondie is still unfinished, but I did get Grey Hair looking passable; only thing that really needs polishing on this end is her rear armband:

image.png.b91c9917b0cc0099e1dc6ac159bd28e7.png

Feedback is appreciated. I still have a long way to go, so making minor edits to what I already have shouldn't be too big a deal.

EDIT JAN 3 2024:

Finally got Blondie done...or, rather, I've gotten to the point where I'm just like "screw it, close enough." One of the issues with the original sprCutscene8_1_0 was her forearms were only half as long as her upper arms. I was able to fix that for one arm, but not so much the other one. It's supposed to be going into the background, but I wasn't able to get the perspective right. An issue possibly introduced in my patch is that her legs might be too long compared to the rest of her proportions, but like sprCutscene2_1_0, I don't really know how to go about fixing it.

image.png.c0759ded64a9d813166aef8b0fc4c2dd.png

Well, that's it for the cutscene NPCs! All that's left now is a few more statues, the lone female boss, some minor background details, and...the protagonist's numerous appearances. I think it'll be a while before my next update.

----------------

EDIT JAN 26 2024:

Another edit because this really isn't enough for another bump, but *ugh*, my progress just keeps getting slower and slower; I can't bring myself to keep sitting on these. Anyway, the only girl boss is about as done as I can probably get it. I moved one of her hair strands to prevent tit blockage, and I got some decent-looking jiggle physics in her side-view sprites (not shown), but as of this writing, I haven't figured out how to get a similar jiggle for her top-down-view sprites. I'm debating just leaving it like that, but maybe I'll figure something out later on.

sprDespindra_0.png.c595abcde9668e702b2d426c6ebbc3df.pngsprDespindraFly_0.png.6fb7259ec474b302ced2138e052e660b.pngsprDespindraTired_0.png.9f237b0b0e7ec353c902c74748b7f7cb.png

Not spoiled because you can see this boss in the trailer. Also, I decided to make her genitals green because she's a zombie or something. I considered making her vagina red to match her mouth's color, but it didn't look right for some reason. Maybe I just need to give it another chance?

By the way, minor update on sprCutscene2_1_0: after looking at a bunch of other drawings, I did what I tried to avoid doing in the first place: making blondie skinnier, with a more-hourglass-like belly. Sure enough, that made her look better somehow. I'm not uploading the update because I still haven't gotten her legs to look right.

EDIT FEB 7 2024:

If you've played the demo, you'll know there's a broken statue in the level 1 boss arena which is supposed to be represented in the following cutscene... except *that* variant of the statue is broken in a different way! (ugh). In an attempt to save myself some headache, I decided the first variant I'd tackle is the rebuilt one in sprCutscene8_1_0, which I will put in a spoiler since it might be the closest thing to a "big reveal" that the game has. (well, second closest, but I'll get to that one in due time). Then again, just mentioning that there's a rebuilt variant in the first place probably takes most of the surprise out of it, so feel free to open the spoiler if you want:

Spoiler

I was able to get the bulk of this one done in just a few days or so, but there was still one problem: the sword went right down the middle, right in front of her vagina, so of course I had to move it. Then, I was once again faced with the reality that the legs are somehow the hardest thing to draw. Even this one, where the legs were already partly drawn due to the open-faced skirt in the original game--where I really only needed to fill in the top part and the center outline--was still a huge slog to get looking decent. It didn't help that one knee was drawn lower than the other knee in the original sprite (and maybe a bit bigger?), which I eventually settled on having the statue mid-forward-step to get around.

Also, with her sword moved over, she could only have one hand resting on it (instead of both like before). Obviously, this meant I'd have to redraw said hands (which actually looked fine initially), and as you can see, it was something I also had trouble getting to look right. However, it also meant that one had was free, and with this being a nude patch, there's really only one place for it to go:

sprCutscene8_1_0b.png.ce3c22ad18b74ad4e44c5fe7e169184e.png

Yup, I went back on my word of keeping their genitals unobstructed, but it's for a good cause!

yet another sprite preview/backup
  • 2 months later...
Posted (edited)

Well, it finally happened: I missed my personal goal of getting this done by early March. I had extra free time this month that I planned to use to test the patch, to play through the entire game (multiple times after inevitably losing all my continues), but I was at least able to use that extra time to get more done than I otherwise would have (though I also feel like a lot of these just happened to be easier to work with).

Side note: I was originally hoping to save bumping the thread for the patch's release, which is why I edited earlier updates into my previous post, but I managed to get enough done this time that my next bump *should* be announcing its long-overdue completion.

Anyway, picking up where my last edit left off: after getting the rebuilt version of the statue done, I set to work on the broken variant in sprBossBG_0. This one was kinda annoying since it has blatant compression artifacts, so when I was done with my single-color edits, I saved it as a jpeg and backported it to the png to maintain transparency...except the transparency also has some light gradients, and after a few unsuccessful attempts of trying to match it, I gave up and just deleted/remade a similar, simpler gradient around where the dress was deleted:

sprBossBG_0.png.00e9db7e072e77a716b7462bb580d2a1.png

I also did the variant in sprCutscene2_1_0, but I'll upload that one later because after this point, I realized there wasn't much left besides the player character. I saved her for late because I wasn't sure if I'd be committed enough to remove her dress completely (as that'd require drawing a lot of background details). I ultimately decided to go for it, starting with her first cutscene appearance in sprOpening1_0:

sprOpening1_0.png.2e5068dfe424fa2083335e1fa1fd99a6.png

I wasn't sure what enemy to fill in the empty space with, as Romstead's army seems to be different than the final boss's (feel free to make a suggestion, though), so I put a fallen soldier there. I also made the orc's arm go behind him so I wouldn't have to draw as much of it.

Next up was sprOpening2_0. I already removed the crown-holder's sleeves and cured the protagonist's wonky hand syndrome way back October, but this time, I was faced with a greater challenge: completing the throne's bottom faceplate, which is almost entirely covered by the protagonist's dress--both here and in sprCutscene1_1_0. Now, I really didn't feel like drawing a bunch of those intricate swirlies like what the armrests have, so I opted for the much easier route of drawing a creation myth (and then scrapped/reimagined it because I couldn't get certain details in the first draft right), one that builds on the game's existing lore while still staying true to the themes of my nude patch:

sprOpening2_0.png.49dfba1ed15f44e88e04cf3b0454faf0.png

And here is its zoomed-out, skewed variant in sprCutscene1_1_0:

sprCutscene1_1_0.png.11e8b801954ec53af91ee2bbd3b8ccf9.png

(I moved the protagonist's arm out of the way of her other nipple back around October as well. It helped that this covered her upper arm completely, meaning I didn't have to redraw it). EDIT: Almost forgot, @h4m4n since the protagonist is gonna be naked the whole time, I felt it appropriate to add a cum-stain on the throne. Since you're the patch's main benefactor, I figured I should ask if you want it removed...or bigger. @tigers You also get input on this since you paid money to get this patch into production.

Anyway, the visuals for the creation myth are probably hard to parse on their own, so I'll put a text description of said myth here:

Quote

In the beginning, the goddess Seecia wandered the realm, but over the course of several days, slowly realized that she was completely alone. No life or anything like that; just ground and air...maybe some water, too, but that's it. Over time, her loneliness grew: in her mind, in her soul, in her vagina. Eventually, she accepted that no one else was around--no one to keep her company or play with her--so she began to play with herself. As her hand alleviated her vagina's loneliness, it became so happy that it made Seccia happy, and she started cumming. With Seecia being a goddess, her cum was magical and formed into fully-mature adult women, thus creating the first humans and granting Seecia's wish for companionship. Seecia, being a goddess, didn't need to eat, but her children did, and because there still wasn't any other life in the realm, Seecia massaged her boobs to induce lactation and fed them her breastmilk.

As time passed, Seecia would masturbate more life into being--not just more women, but also plants and animals. Whenever life for her people started to get dull, she would hold a festival where everyone could gather around and watch her cum new life into the world. It is one of these festivals depicted on the throne. The audience is also allowed/encouraged to masturbate alongside their goddess, but of course, their cum is just normal human cum, which does little more than provide a bit of nourishment for the grass/moss/whatever on the ground. These festivals would always result in some never-before-seen life forms to help make life more interesting; at one point, Seecia even created a few men, but ultimately, her followers weren't too keen on the whole pregnancy/birth/rear-a-child-for-18+years, so the goddess kept the men for herself as, uh..."priests."

Then Romstead invaded and everyone collectively went "oh shit, none of us know how to fight!" so Seecia had to go to Earth, hoping to find a woman who likes to walk everywhere naked and also knows how to fight. Thus, Wisteria Asagiri was chosen, and the rest is canon.

Don't worry about this conflicting with in-game text; I dumped the strings and combed through them to make sure there weren't any contradictions to my plans. In fact, not only did I not find anything, there's actually a line where the protagonist feels a warm sensation all over her body, which is just...so perfect. (that said, I only just now noticed that the string dump appears to be missing some lines that I know are in the game. Oh well; this is why testing is important, but I can't really test as I go like I planned since the game doesn't save progress!). EDIT: Okay, I found the missing cutscene dialogue in the exported code, and it seems like meshing the myth with canon might be a bit shaky considering the final boss's motivation. That said, there doesn't appear to be an in-game explanation why they needed Wisteria if they could already use powerful magic beforehand, so I'm gonna say that Wisteria had to teach them how to fight after the battle against Romstead happened, then they developed powerful magic to enhance their attacks, and THEN the under-realms were absorbed into the nether realm due to an unrelated incident. The game doesn't appear to say when that happens (or why, tbh), so it should still work.

Oh, one more thing I decided to do is dimensionally-stabilize the protagonist's bracelets so they won't disappear in certain cutscenes (or literally every time you turn around). I had to draw a little bit for her rear arm in sprOpening1_0, but sprCutscene1_1_0 was the first where both were missing. They'll still change size, though; I only have so much patience.

Anyway, now we're finally at sprCutscene2_1_0, which features a total-dress-removal for both the protagonist and the other variant for the broken statue. Her bracelets were here this time, and I realized I drew them a bit too small in the previous cutscene image, so I made sure to make them bigger for all future reconstitutions. Some of the background details I had to fill in may look a bit awkward, but oh well.

sprCutscene2_1_0.png.b5afdea4b8ffe165a954a45f4ff91406.png

Next up is sprCutscene2_2_0, the first one where total-dress-removal actually has tangible results: you can see her butt, now! I also pulled her arms back to make her tit visible as well:

sprCutscene2_2_0.png.82d561a8ad4bd5a8c8ce07c8de49c4b0.png

And yes, that's the broken statue making yet another appearance. Thank goodness this one was just a basic recolor.

And with that, I'm finally done with all the demo's cutscenes. The ones afterward don't seem to have any spoilers, though, so you get previews of them as well...in another post later today. I'm having trouble uploading new images right now.

EDIT: Okay, maybe I won't. Only got one image to upload properly, and the second keeps ending up being broken.

found dialogue I missed before; reconciled it with creation myth
Posted (edited)

Alright, I'm back. Let's see if this works now:

sprCutscene3_1_0.png.479d1d5ba4af554aecab7f16673e52e8.png

Cool. Anyway, that's sprCutscene3_1_0, which I admit didn't turn out so hot. Her dress was blowing stage left, which helped give an outline for one leg but not the other, so I had to improvise. With the lighting being the way it is, I tried to make it so she's stepping forward, though in retrospect, I'm not sure it comes across that well. The bracelet I drew turned out somewhat okay, though. I also mirrored her arm vertically so it would once again not block view of her nipple. EDIT: Oh, and the dead stage 2 boss in the background was scaled 2x2 in the original image; that wasn't my own doing.

Then there's sprCutscene4_1_0. Her body wasn't too much trouble to edit, but the background, oof. Lots of tiny, misc details that also need to look like destroyed buildings, and it's completely different ruins compared to sprStage3City_0 (the level's background), so I couldn't just copy from there. I copied what I could from other parts of the cutscene image to help fill things in, but other details had to be invented whole-cloth, and as stated before, I'm not a very good artist. I did what I could, but don't look in the distance too long because some parts still look like ambiguous nonsense, resembling background details in an AI-generated image, except no, a human did that.

sprCutscene4_1_0.png.345f1fa3dddd0271238d37a43731d395.png

I also had to reconstitute her chest gems along with her bracelets in this one. I'm guessing her other leg was supposed to be forward in the original game.

Next is the close-up known only as sprCutscene4_2_0. I had to use completely different reference material to help the nipples be more detailed without clashing against the game's simplistic artstyle. Once again, I'm not completely satisfied with how they turned out; I even went back and tweaked them a bit more just now, and since I'm not gonna be able to test the patch thoroughly anytime soon, there's a chance I'll scrap this and redraw them, but for now, it's...fine.

sprCutscene4_2_0.png.ffdef27f4a42d5ff8986f8fb1252a412.png

sprCutscene5_1_0 also needed her chest gems reconstituted, and I had trouble finding an appropriate spot for her vagina since I didn't have any legs to work with. The bracelets I drew maybe didn't turn out that great, but then I saw the officially-drawn ones in sprCutscene7_2_0 and felt better about myself. At the very least, I'll see if I can (remember to try to) make her stage-left nipple look a bit better--but you know, besides all that, I think it turned out great!

Urgh, the image-upload feature is breaking again, so I'll just submit these few for now. Apologies for the multi-posts, but I don't want to lose my progress.

EDIT: I'll be busy all day tomorrow, so if I can't get image uploading to work soon, I'll likely have to save the last part of this update for the day after.

Third post in a row; let's see if I can upload images again...HECK YEAH, I GOT THEM ALL UPLOADED!

sprCutscene6_1_0 already had the bracelets here, so I could just focus on the body. I had to move her right arm over so her butt could be better seen, though I think it could stand to be polished up a bit, especially in the shoulder area. I also had trouble getting her foot to look decent, but I've also seen professional artists have trouble with feet despite getting everything else looking good, so I don't feel too bad. Weirdly, in the original, her left hand's thumb was on the wrong side (look at the direction her fingers are curling), so I removed it. I thought sprCutscene2_1_0 was the only one with that issue, but nope.

sprCutscene6_1_0.png.62e3525efc431f1d85a430bfd00526ac.png

Looking at it again, her sword pommel might need to be polished up as well, even though that's how it looked in the original sprite.

Moving on: the feet in sprCutscene7_1_0 turned out much better. I decided to paint her toenails with the blood of her enemies partly so the extra palette would help maintain the toes' shapes without them bleeding into each other through their outline. The background also had some random pairs of blue circles that I decided to replace with more appealing shapes (it's not like they have any canon significance, right?).

sprCutscene7_1_0.png.2681b7bb499024727a1e78f6a2749bcd.png

This is followed by sprCutscene7_2_0, which is the third closest the game gets to a big reveal since it's the only time the protagonist swings her sword in a cutscene, and the only time the location/camera angle are the same as in the last cutscene image! Not spoiled because tbh it's probably not that big a surprise. For this one, I had trouble getting her legs to look right after connecting them from her waist to the original cutscene's existing visible leg segments at the bottom of the screen, so eventually, I just deleted her original back leg and redrew it so she's doing a single step from her previous position.

sprCutscene7_2_0.png.f31a02fc6494382b8054d0fd8f51fabd.png

sprCutscene8_1_0 not only features the two supporting characters I stripped in my December update, but it also has a dividing line (that you can partly see at the bottom-left corner of Grey Hair's preview) to show the protagonist as well. Only one bracelet missing here (the one by her sword), but that's still down one from the previous three having both of them. She also blatantly had her other leg sticking out, so I swapped which one she was kneeling on (and by extension, which leg she's resting her hand on) in order to make her vagina visible. This had the extra consequence of me having to scoot the lower half of her body over so she isn't awkwardly leaning to the side for no reason. Annoyingly, this one also had her thumbs on the wrong side, which meant I actually had to draw the thumb on her stage-right hand. This is such a weird mistake; was the artist an amputee too proud to look up reference material? How do you make this mistake and not catch yourself later?

sprCutscene8_1_0.png.dce9a75bc4b2c817ea880289dd4914f7.png

EDIT: Speaking of catching mistakes later, I was thinking about this specific edit the day after I made this post, and I realized that keeping her bottom hand like that makes it look awkwardly twisted; a more natural pose would have the fingers pointed away from the camera, curling over the other side of her leg. Hopefully, that won't be too much trouble for me to go back and fix.

Moving on: sprCutscene8_2_0 is the last time the protagonist's bracelets were missing, but her wrists also only make one more cutscene appearance after this, so it's not that big an achievement for them. I'm also pretty sure this is where the she feels the warm sensation over her body, so I felt it appropriate to make her cum (and lactate). Maybe I overdid it. By the way, I couldn't use white for those liquids because the background is also white, so I made them light-grey instead. It's easier to see zoomed in like you'd see playing the game in fullscreen.

sprCutscene8_2_0.png.30867aa3f6cb18431847ede122beb6fa.png

Finally, we have sprEnding1_0.  Her hands didn't have defined fingers (they were just blobs), so I tried to draw them in the spot where her dress was blocking view in the original, and, well...if I do go back to polish things up, this should have top priority. Her butt also kinda looks awkward, but that shading was part of the original image, too. Oh well.

sprEnding1_0.png.bb656ef144d63fb7732795675c56c7d6.png

Although the protagonist is also in sprEnding4_0, that's such a close-up of her face that her dress doesn't appear at all; thus, no edits necessary.

Oh, almost forgot: around when I was working on the creation myth mural in sprOpening2_0, I decided that sprRootSoldierG16new_0 would get the nude treatment after all. I was hesitant at first because this character was almost completely covered in roots, to the point where the character's gender was ambiguous (the only other non-evil possibly-non-female character besides the one in sprEnding3_0 that I feminized in my December update). Naturally, most of the vines had to be removed to make now-her genitals visible, and the ones that survived got moved around. I also drew some new, small ones to bind the character's limbs, and I also made sure to make it so you can kinda follow the roots as they wrap around the character:

sprRootSoldierG16new_0.png.02d56f5b03e0ae383adcbcaad2ba4a00.png

Last but not least, I got tlStage1Statue_0 done. Yup, the one that gave me trouble in the demo patch because it wouldn't import and was also stored weird. Turns out, only the 16x16 core of each tile is used, but there's a 2-pixel-thick border around each of them that duplicates their outer border that way, making it look awkward as a raw image:

tlStage1Statue_0.png.6d79a8fb4b19c9bb7e72010568cd49a3.png

However, once you import it with the latest (March 4 2024) version of UndertaleModTool, this is what you see:

aaaaaaaa.jpg.967395de825cc86e4fb2ea9d7928bb35.jpg

sigh...and here's what it's SUPPOSED to look like:

tlStage1Statue_0.png.9bd6dc41a058ea379d195ae7770b9d4f.png

To uncover her vagina, I removed her shield--and with it, the only evidence that anyone in the Higher Realm knows what a shield is. I moved her sword over for the same reason. With her shield hand free, the only place it can go is in her vagina, though the low number of pixels make it hard to show that detail properly. Also, like sprBossBG_0 before, this image used a much-higher-than-16-bit palette, so I didn't bother with maintaining the pixel-art aesthetic and used Paint.net's more anti-aliasing tools like the brush and line curves to maintain its higher-quality gradients.

----------------

And with that, my three-post-long update is finished. All that's really left is to remove the dress from the player sprites and work on sprEndingBonus_0. However, that last one is a special case, and it's what I alluded to earlier about the game's closest point to having a big reveal. See, I suspect that image is a reward for doing something stupid like beating hard mode without using any continues, and due to the nature of said reward, a simple genital reveal wouldn't have the same impact. I already have some ideas for what do to; just be aware this one image may take me quite some time to get done (even moreso than the others).

IT'S DONE! IT'S FINALLY DONE!!! The player sprites took me about a month, the bonus image took me about 2.6 months, and testing/polish took around 10 days. If you're wondering how I beat the game so quickly, it's simple: I cheated.

I also went back and polished some the cutscene images, though for a lot of them, I didn't make too many changes before deciding they looked fine and I just wasn't feeling too great during my last update.

@tigers I don't think I ever properly thanked you before, so I'll do it here: thanks for buying me the game. I hope the patch lives up to your standards.

EDIT: To site staff: I saw in the guidelines that you said not to use PNGs since they take up way more space than JPGs, so if you need room, feel free to delete the cutscene previews I uploaded in this thread as backup. I don't need them anymore now that the full mod is done.

Okay, I've got a bit of an announcement/confession to make:

In the txt file included with the patch, I mention that there are two game-breaking bugs (softlock in the level 4 elevator and stuck in the level 7 boss's ceiling) that I initially blamed on the game itself. However, I've recently encountered evidence that UndertaleModTool's graphics importer is capable of causing softlock-tier bugs on its own, ones that aren't present in the original game. I won't go back and do more tests with this game, but if you seem to be encountering similar bugs with alarming frequency, there's a chance you may have to go without the patch for a level (or wait who-knows-how-long for an update to UndertaleModTool itself). I myself beat level 4 in unaltered practice mode after encountering the first bug (only the graphics had been imported, not the code mods), and there was one part in level 6 (the end of the second room) where I remember having trouble figuring out how to cross the spike pit without taking damage, so maybe UMT caused a layering bug there, too? Maybe not, but I just thought I should mention these things.
