Not sure if adjustments are needed

So I've modded Fallout 4 and Skyrim quite a bit, but this is my first time modding Oblivion. I've followed the guide to the best of my ability, there's no stretching, stuttering, or crashin, and everything seems to be working fine, but the placement of whoever is on the receiving end of fun time is misaligned, needless to say there's some weird clipping. Is there anything that I could or should do to fix the alignment?

How much is shifted and in what exactly?

In general, there are very old animations, where the authors selected them from what was at that time and did not bother with exact compatibility.

And also, if characters with races that have a different scale (and in the base 1-1), they will always have problems in matching exactly

For the test, try the following animations

(they are accurate, but for an anim bolt), if they work fine, then everything is fine from your side.

So say for a cowgirl position, the one on top is shifted back more to the point where the bottom is clipping through very badly through the one on top, I'll look at the thread you linked, but I'm not sure if its race incompatibility as you mentioned, I tried it with a wood elf on top then an imperial after (the character I was using was also an imperial) and had the exact same placement as the wood elf.

Remember the animations are made for scale 1 NPC/Player/Creature.

Imperial with Imperial (both scale 1 ) works fine. But male Woodelf (scale 0.9) with female GoldenSaint (1,1) or Highelf(1.1) penis and vagina do not fit together perfectly. Or female Breton (0,95) with Hircine Minotaur Lord (1.4)

Imperial with dog/wolf (1,0)  good but with Timberwolf (1.25) not perfect.

And it depends on your body type. your female body replacer. The animations are made for DM or HGEC LL lowerbodies. With a  slim lower body there can be clipping , Penis sticking out of the belly.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

To improve the animations a bit you have the position keys.

keys 1 to 4 and 9 and 0 are there for position changes.
Offender/Creature 1 = forwards, 2 = back, 3 = down, 4 = up; Defender 9 = down, 0 = up

With "Lovers Backup 2" you can save all your adjustments. With LAPF only 8 or 10 positions can be saved, The mod only increases the number of save slots

If you don't want to make so many  adjustments you can use "Lovers Set Scale revised"

With "Lovers Set Scale revised" all "sex participant" are set to scale 1 during sex.

Backup 2 is in the LAPF Supplemental Plugin Pack https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/355-lovers-supplemental-plugin-pack/

Set Scale   https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/152-lovers-set-scale-revised/

EDIT:  And uneven ground is also bad for animations.  Also small rooms or ceilings that are too low, because the sex partners can not be placed properly.
