CTD help request [SOLVED]

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

have run into a CTD issue that i am hoping someone knows the mod that is causing it.

i do use MO2.

getting a CTD in combat only, and not always.  sometimes combat is fine, but within 3-5 combat attempts it will CTD for sure, once it starts.

as i don't have a lot of time to play/bughunt daily figured i would ask and see if someone happens to know which mod is causing this.

type of combat does not matter as this can happen when  it happens. combat is any type player involved or just 2 different npcs involved

but not the player.  have seen it occur with bugs, raiders, gunners, ghouls, right after the alien ship crashes, supermutants, dogs, other animals,

pretty much anything that can be in combat.

according to Buffout it is an audio file issue.  sometimes it occurs really fast, other times it will be 5-15 hours into a new game when it shows up.

i can do anything else in game and no problem (build, AAF scenes play, mod weapons, trade, etc).  i have tried removing mods that have the sound folder

after it happens and reloading the last previous save, but it still happens in that testing.

PLEASE do not tell me to reset the ini files. i KNOW they are not the problem. the reason i know this is that i have MO2 set to use the default ini files, and

can play for over 30 hours with absoluetly no problems at all if i launch game through Steam Launcher.  if i lauch it through Steam Launcher i have no issues at

all playing the game. all combat and other thing work normally then with no CTD.  also the ini files in MO2 and in the default location are exactly the same.

i literally copied the default ini files into MO2, and have compare them after this started and they are still the exact same.

i am really hoping someone knows which mod is causing this.  i will be beginning the binary search method to find which mod it is, but as it take a bit to always

show up and i have limited time (1 hour 5 days a week and total of 5-10  hours on other 2 days) it may take me quite a while to find it myself.

suggestions are welcome.

including buffout crash log, autoscan log, modlist, plugins list. for reference.

edit - system specs are in the crash log

thanks for all help.

If* it's sound related it could be a plugin changing something audio related and that is causing an audio crash. It doesn't have to be a sound file replacer per say. I do see and audio mod in your loadout but couldn't say if related as I have no idea what all it does.

You could possibly get more help if you had multiple buffout crash logs to compare between.

That particular log is showing a player crash, & a bad nif file, I am assuming your PC is wearing the nif file in question. Combat wise where you state you have issues; you seem to have something related to weapon impacts. I only seen that with bad nif files and being shot/melee with some material issue. But I can't tell if that is THE crash point.

not closing the thread until i have finished the mod i ran into the issue on before, however i think i found the culprit.

the CTD went away when i removed PRP (prevines repair pack i think its called). funny enough i removed it due to it causing

the bridge out of Sanctuary to be a ghost bridge, as in its visible but when i try to walk across it i drop into the water, and finding several other

locations with ghost floors, walls, roofs.  and yes i had it installed according to instruction, and after removing it all ghost stuff is now normal and the

CTD is gone as well (as far as i can tell so far).

story of my life for the first couple of years playing a modded game - solve one problem accidently make another in the process.

somehow i borked my AAF, as in the mod is installed but does not play any animations.  pretty sure i now have an mod caused xml issue as i am getting an

"[037] referencing a plugin that is not installed ccfvscfo4002-midcenturymodern.esl" missing and i have no idea  what mod it is referring to.

i made the stupid mistake of letting LOOT organize my plugin list (and just moved the 2 mods i knew it put in wrong place).

so i guess i know what i will be doing until i figure it out, as i had previously had AAF working fine.  might have accidently installed something that wants that mod.

time to do another binary search to find what mod is trying to use that mod (whatever it is).

previous problems solved

animation issue was due to Mutated Lust 1.04 - switching b ack to 1.03 fixed that

missing esl issue solved by switching bp70 animations from 2.8 to 2.7
