Commander Drag Queen
So I'm planing to buy an android tablet to take college notes on, do my word processing when I'm traveling, watch some movies, listen to music, and play some games. I want an android because I hate how restricted Apple's iOS (no emulators, no custom themes, no flash, etc). So I'm looking at getting a Nexus 7, which last year's model is about $140-$200 on eBay, which sounds really good to me; however, this year's model is available for about $40-$80 more with an increased CPU (1.5 GHz compared to last year's 1.2) and RAM memory (1 extra GB). While the upgraded processor sounds nice, I can't see any reason why I'd need an extra GB of RAM for even some of the new games being released on the Google Play store. It would help if google would let you see which devices work with which apps on their store, but all they tell you is if your activated devices are compatible or not with an app. I know there's also a plethora of other Android tablets out there that are affordable and get people through their daily needs, but the big name on that I know of is the N7. What I'm looking for is this: what kind of tablet people recommend, why, and how much they generally run for. Feel free to argue that the iPads are better than Android if you like, but I'd rather try to find something that doesn't cost more than $300. Oh, and if you know of a site that sells tablets for less than what's on eBay, please leave a link in your post. Thanks! Link to comment
Adam Jensen
I have the Nexus Transformer 3000 and it's hands down one of the best tablets I ever used. Link to comment
Commander Drag Queen
Hmm. I can't seem to find it for some reason. Best I could find was the Asus Transformer Pad 300 and the Lenovo IdeaTab A3000, both of which look good. You have a link to it? Link to comment

Commander Drag Queen
Good point. I managed to get my tablet yesterday (Asus Transformer 300T, which has the same specs as the Nexus 7) and I've already got TWRP recovery mode (I was using CWM, but it wouldn't make a backup for some odd reason) and I've rooted it. I'm thinking about using Pac-man Rom instead of Cyanogen mod, since PMR has all of Cyan's features mixed in with other promising features. However, I'm a bit sceptical because it sounds like an overly ambitious project. Anyone have any luck with it? Nevermind. Tablet died a few weeks ago (I say it got overloaded by ass being pressed up against it, the little perv. ) , and to celebrate my getting older, I replaced it with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 model.
