SexLab Installation For VR Users - Animation Fixed and Giant Camp Teleport Fix

Recommended Posts

After a couple months trying to get SexLab to work in VR I have finally figured it out and I would like to share it with you. I have not only figured out how to install the default animations but also how to avoid the teleport bug that sends you to the center of the map (the giant camp). If you find this helpful please share the link to it.

Before you do anything there are some mods needed to be installed first. These include (some are optional):

  • sksevr_2_00_12
  • PapyrusUtil VR - Scripting Utility Functions-13048-3-6b-1545409528
  • SkyUI.v1.2.1
  • JContainersVR-v4.1.2
  • Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch-266-4-2-5b-1623727189
  • Skyrim VR USSEP 4.2.1 and SSE 1.5.97 Compatibility Patch-31673-1-2-1578696926
  • VR Address Library-58101-0-69-0-1670916871
  • UIExtensions v1-2-0-17561-1-2-0
  • FNIS Behavior VR 7_6 XXL-3038-7-6-1582049179
  • FNIS Creature Pack SE 7.6-3038-7-6-1582049490

I will let you figure out how to install these yourself. There's plenty of YouTube video's to help.

Installation Part 1

So, for VR users you will want to install THIS zip file first: SexLabFrameworkSE_v163_BETA8

DO NOT use the 163.7. Use the one that also has Beta8 in the name. It can be downloaded directly from this link: https://www.loverslab.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=1111853

Or you can visit the page it is found on at: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/163272-sexlab-framework-se-beta/

If you do not use THIS VERSION you will see FNIS create the animations but it will NOT be found in the game.

Now that you have downloaded this file use vortex, MO2, or whatever you want to install it. After you install it you will want to

run the game once and allow a few minutes for SexLab to show up in your MCM menu. Once it does you should see an option to install on the top right. Click this and exit the menu back to the game. Wait for it to finish. You will know it's done when you see a notification that it was installed. Exit the game.

Installation Part 2

Now, download and install these 2 patches, they should load after the last one you installed:

SL VRpatch Beta8 38-test.7z which you can download directly from this link: https://www.loverslab.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=969726

And

SL VRpatch hotfix for v38.7z which you can download directly from here: https://www.loverslab.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=1037882

You can find the page they are on here: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/132489-skyrim-sexlab-and-vr/

The page is also a good tutorial, but there are some things left out which can cause problems.

At this point if you have Papyrus already installed go ahead and reinstall it. It will need to be loaded AFTER these other files and any other mods you use. You may need to change it's load order but that's another tutorial. The point is you need it to load AFTER these. View a YouTube tutorial if you don't know how.

Now, run FNIS (again, YouTube has tutorials). Once done go back to the game and wait for SexLab to appear in the MCM menu again. It will once again ask you to install. Click on the install and exit the menu back to the game. Eventually it will pop up a notice saying it is ready.

Go back into the MCM and once again select SexLab. THIS TIME it will look different. Congratulations, it's installed and you will see that it has animations now. But we aren't done. Make sure to go to Rebuild & Clean. click on Reset Animation Registry and DO NOT leave the menu. Just sit there until it says it's finished. Otherwise you will not be able to move forward as it won't let you use the MCM anymore.

Once it says it's finished you will now be able to use the animations. BUT, if you do so right now you will probably be sent packing and teleport to the giant camp.

To fix this go to Animation Settings and check the box that says disable teleport.

Testing

Now you should be able to test out an animation. Equip the Sexlab (Debug Target) spell in one hand and the Sexlab (Debug Self) spell in the other hand. Find a random person and cast the Debug target spell on them. Once you do that cast the Debug Self spell twice. This will play a random animation. You don't need any other mods to test the framework.

Don't Say I Didn't Warn You

Now, a few things to remember. Each time you start the game you will most likely have to click install SexLab from the MCM menu to get it going. But, you don't have to go through the rest of the process. You can export your settings and load them automatically as an animation profile. You can find these options in the SexLab MCM menu.

Also, please note that some mods may break this if they overwrite anything. So if that happens just turn them all off one by one until you find the one that caused it. Then edit it's load order or delete it. Turn them all back on again and you should be fine.

The most common causes of trouble are:

  • Wrong Load Order
  • Wrong Files Downloaded
  • Papyrus Not Loading AFTER this
  • Forgetting To Run FNIS
  • Other Mods

Thanks a lot, man. I've been sporadically trying to make this work for YEARS using different guides and it only got me headaches and with this guide i got it working in under an hour. Great job:thumbsup:

Edit: one thing i haven't been able to set up is UI extension or another way to control the sexlab menu during scene, i have to go to the mcm menu and it kinda breaks the passing and i can not switch between 1st and 3rd person mode, any idea?

While running Yamete REDUX, I am facing an issue on violation where the screen will fade to black, and the game will freeze in place, and not unfade to black, perhaps this isn't a Sexlab issue itself, but I'm asking here.

I really don't know. I've been using the mcm menu myself. I have it set to default to 3rd person. Haven't considered changing it in the middle of the scene.
