I need help with Bodyslide feet mesh bug when sneaking.

What the title says. I have Vanargand sneak animation and when I sneak, the feet mesh goes wonky as shown in the screenshots. I use customized 3BA body preset.

I did some investigation and concluded it is caused by the meshes generated by bodyslide. not all feet meshes have this bug. Only some 3ba converted armor mods have this issue for the feet in my Skyrim. so far I found the issue with Merta Assassin armor 3BA conversion and the 3BA conversion for 4thunknown's DB armor replacer. Anyone have any ideas of how to fix this?489830_20230111155429_1.thumb.png.9ad531ce599aecf5e3b41e03c51ac6a9.png

Seems like the weight painting on the boots/feet meshes is wrong. Did you compare these in Outfit Studio?

how do you check it?

How about you zip up the boots nifs from these mods and upload the archive here, I'll take a look at it.

This is the NIF files generated by the bodyslide. the raw NIF from the mod itself doesn't cause the issue, but obv it clips and stuff because it's not batch patched. the problem only occurs with this NIF.

There's significant differences between the weight painting on the feet in that mesh and the default CBBE feet. I'd say these need to be redone, but I'm going to need the original mesh for that, not the bodyslided ones.

do you think it's an issue of the armor mesh or or is it of my end? because the same thing happens with the other 3ba conversion. I might try other armor mods to see if I can find other armors that have the issue. I can also send you the NIF but I also would like to know how to fix that as well.

The pre-bodyslide nif should look similar to the post-bodyslide nif as far as I know. If one has "good" weight painting and the other doesn't then, well that would be odd but also probably something I can't do anything about. Only thing I was going to do was just redo the weight painting using the reference 3bav2 body and see if I get a better result.

In that case it's going to need manual work probably, but at least we know where the problem is - weight painting.

yeah at least that's a good finding

There's some things here that do not make sense. Clipping I understand, that's "normal", but what happened to the left knee? Also, as far as I know you can't have unweighted vertices, yet when I open the original mesh you sent me, the front of the calves have them. Something else going on here, besides the bad weight painting maybe.

yeah. it's actually both knees. you can't see it because I was sneaking but it was there.
