mabowabo Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 (edited) Hello LL, So some of the skins I use have this strange issue where under certain light they pixelate depending on the distance I look at them. Here I'm using The Pure 8k textures, and when I zoom in everything is high quality, but as soon as I zoom out, these squares appear on SOME parts of the skin... I can't see any on the body, this seems to happen mainly on the face. Anyone know whats causing this? I thought its my ENB but I looked at the skins while its off and its the same. Not ALL skins do this either, I use Fair Skin too and that one is pristine. But The Pure and also Bjin skin has this issue. It's quite subtle, but its pretty jarring once you notice. EDIT: I had a closer look, and this happens on the whole body, not just the face!! >_<; It's not just as easy to see... Edited November 30, 2022 by mabowabo
Setekh Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 It's the skin specular map doing it, it's because of DXT compression artifacts. Either use a higher resolution one, or save the source as uncompressed 8.8.8 or luminance map (LE) or as BC7 (SE). You can also use your ENB control panel to set the LOD bias to a negative number, but this will impact performance.
