Is there a way to avoid followers attacking guards?

I've got a pile of mods running that change the dialogue and outcomes for surrendering to guards, but after i surrender my follower without fail starts attacking the nearest guard which inevitably breaks whatever that mod was trying to do.

Check the MCM pages for the mods. Chances are one of them has an option to make followers surrender when you do.

If you know of a mod that has this that would be amazing, I can't see it on anything i've got installed

Hmmm... nothing leaps out. Maybe someone else has a better idea?

So I got rid of the follower and it turns out its actually not the follower causing it, whenever a surrender dialogue ends the guards immediately start trying to kill me regardless of what dialogue options were chosen.

So your surrender mod isn't working. I thought you surrendered but the follower didn't. That's a different complexion on the matter.

 

Do you know which mod is supposed to be implementing the surrender? Because generally you can do that just by sheathing your weapon.
