CorneliusJr Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 (edited) It is frequently said to never have more than one default body part in your mods folder, but this isn't true of default eyes. I know many are likely aware of this already, but for those who aren't, it is a great deal of fun to have a lot of default eyes. Go to your favorite site and download every default eye set that looks awesome. In CAS, they will all show up as new squares, and look, you probably have a scroll bar now. Have fun! Caveat: you won't have any thumbnails, so you'll have to hunt and peck to find what you want, but I always enjoy watching the eyes change on my sim. Don't you? The more default eyes you load, most of your sims will already have amazing eyes, and you won't feel like you have to change them just for being ugly. If anyone knows how to get rid of the EA eyes so that we no longer have them in the eye color menu (or our sims,) I would love not to accidentally click on them anymore. Another thing about default body parts, having more than one default for the same body parts won't actually break your game; it will simply only use one of them, and with various combinations of parts the results become unpredictable. However, I have accidentally played with multiple defaults for extended periods with no issues. It is, in fact, something to avoid, however. To save yourself potential hassles, but also so that the hard work of the creators are sure to appear in the most flattering context, and to cut down on support requests and complaints. The Sims is very robust for mods. You can have a gazillion. The more CC you add, the longer it takes to load, but compared to Skyrim it's a dream. I have so much CC I don't even bother trying to root out the bad sets, like if I accidentally loaded a recolor; I probably have 50 like that. When I see a sim in the world with a broken wardrobe, I just click on them and fix them in CAS. Alright, I'll let you all go now. I sort of rambled. I hope someone finds it useful. This is my first post; I hope it's ok. lol. Edited November 17, 2022 by CorneliusJr
deathbywesker Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 I think this works the same for sliders as well, but in order to make them work together, I think you have to rename the file name or group them into separate folders. This helps if you have sliders that are conflicting with each other. I usually group them based on what sliders I'm using the most and number them in that order (I usually start from the face and then work my way down to the body.) (Also if you do rename the actual part name, it could turn your sim black as if the that specific part/cc was missing and result in the slider not working at all.) There is a simmer who made a post/guide about this on tumblr but I can't remember who, but I'll link it here if I find it again. They basically describe what I've just said but in much better detail. Here is an example of my mods folder (I'm not showing everything but just the slider parts only). I can't say it works the same way for other default body parts like eyes. Spoiler Keep in mind, I didn't rename the sliders and kept them as they are. You can rename the slider but it could also break the slider as well, so putting them in separate folders in numbered order in my opinion is the best option. 1

I thought for sliders - it was basically just whatever slider hit that spot first?? Like everything is tagged to a spot (IE: left side neck, and then its either left-right and up-down) and whatever slider hits that spot first is whats going to be used?? If you have two sliders that both are triggered by going left-right on the neck only 1 of them is going to be used? 1

deathbywesker Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Found it, here's moonchild's slider guide. This guide is really helpful if you're using a bunch of custom sliders. 4

Thank you! Yes; they can be there; as long as they never show up on NP sims I'm good! I used to preplace eyes for every sim I encountered in the world, and now I don't have to! I have a lot of eyes in my Skin Details I won't be using as much now. Thanks again! 1
