ZellShepard
I'm afraid that the issue I'm having may not be truly solveable, but it has come to the point where I believe that asking for help may be the best course of action. As the title suggests, I'm having some serious problems with microstuttering. Everything I have installed so far works perfectly...except for this one issue. The game begins to stutter randomly, both at intervals of time and when opening a container or the pause menu. The longer I play for a session, the worse it becomes, to the point where the game is stuttering more than it is playing. This usually only takes about five minutes to reach its peak. It is indiscriminate, occurring both indoors and outdoors and being largely unaltered by areas with more NPCs. It renders the game almost unplayable, especially in combat. The first time this happened, I checked and unchecked mods in a systematic attempt to discover the source of the issue (I'm used to this after years of Elder Scrolls games). It only vanished when disabling every Sexout mod completely, including ESM files. Unfortunately, this led to an unrelated problem of mod-added perks' effects being permanent and ruining my saves. I have since then restarted the game with fewer mods enabled and making sure that they were all up-to-date. For a few hours, this worked flawlessly - the stuttering was completely gone, being even smoother than vanilla FO:NV. Then, I activated the, um, "stalker" feature of SexoutSexAssault and immediately noticed the stuttering return. I quickly loaded a previous save and continued on my way with it deactivated. Next, I decided to try out the Tryout mods, enabling the SexoutPowderGangers mod. This had little effect until I began to approach the NCRCF and the surrounding camps - the stuttering returned. However, it was very minor and I decided to deal with it, figuring it had to do with all the NPCs around - checking the console showed numerous reports of running scripts on Powder Gangers. By the time I had gotten to the NCR raid on the facility, the stuttering had returned in full force, even after leaving and returning to the open wasteland with no one around. I disabled SexoutPowderGangers, but this had no effect. Sadly, it seems that Sexout has some kind of build-up or memory leak over time that taxes the system more and more. I have had no crashes related to this issue, but I'm sure that if I play for long enough the game will seize up and CTD. The only solution seems to be to perform a clean save every few hours, which is rather silly and impractical, as it wipes settings and logs and causes the mentioned issue with perks. Jayce Dimmer
Don't worry; this problem has been in every single Bethesda game since Morrowind. Some people have it, others don't. I found that I only get the stuttering in first person when outside. When inside, it doesn't matter which view style I'm using; the stutter is still there. There is a temporary fix (as in, you have to do it whenever the stutter appears, or keep it on every time you launch the game) is to get RadeonPro and then record your gameplay. Doesn't matter what quality you film it at (I do 30fps @ lowest quality @ lowest resolution), as long as you're recording the stutter is removed. It's an insanely wierd fix and doesn't work for NVidia cards, due to RadeonPro being made for AMD's drivers. Link to comment
RitualClarity
Long shot change the settings for the number of Cores the game uses in game. This seems to be an issue where the more powerful machines seem to get slower and slower and more and more issues. You can find some other info discussion of the affects of modern hardware and this game in the "Tracking down the Plugin Limit" link in my sig. Link to comment
