Skyrim AE on GOG

Found out how GOG will allow back dating an update and as that was my biggest issue before I jumped on it,

Now the only issue with the install is vortex is telling me papyrus.dll , racemenu.dll and sexlabutil.dll is out of date.  As this install is a day old I get that and guess things have to catch up.

Issue is did I make a mistake with going GOG?

More than a year I follow all this AE mess.

Those people struggle to get it working. Actually, I mentioned this a year ago.

It will take minimum a year to have it up, maybe up to 5 to have it well running.

People laughed about this...3 months max. blabla.

I for myself used this time to tweak and optimize my stable 1.5.97. Have it how I want it.

Well

modern, new design, faster but one drawback, not working

I look at it that is was worth a shot.  The premise to be able to roll back is good.  That was the hook for me.  Just have to wait for the modders to catch up.

I could have done my research but trying to find decent info is a minefeild one has to deal with. As always this is the best stop for actual good info and that is why I posted.

Going to try and delete what I have now so it will work in basic mode for now.

I tested Skyrim AE (more out of curiosity than for the game itself) with both Vortex and MO2.....without so much time wasted on it; the former gave me conflicts with other mods, from which it should have just overwritten the files, the latter gave me incompatibilities with SexLab and SOS. Racemenu didn't work, sexlabutil1 let's not talk about it, Showracemenu..... didn't work either, I switched to NexusModManager and everything was perfect (it reads SkyrimAE as if it were SkyrimSE) I don't think, therefore, it's a matter of missing mod updates, but the problem, in my opinion, is really Vortex or MO2. In fact, I've read on this very forum that many people have problems with these ModManagers.
