v2099 Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Hi everyone, I made a mod that can be configured to let armor visually degrade by swapping out the item the player or NPCs are wearing when it gets damaged (VSU Degradation on Nexus). Armor sets from any mods can be easily set up to work within this framework, so adding your own rules for mods you want to support is easy enough. I am currently working on setting up a plugin for duplicates of all the vanilla armors (or at least the most common ones), so that drop-in mesh replacers can be used for the damaged versions of armors. I'm looking for any armor mods that can replace vanilla armors, as well as have alternate damaged versions (or if any skilled modelers want to create some, let me know. I'm learning 3d modeling, but it'll probably be years before I can make something decent). Thanks, v
nilead Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Thats an interesting mod i missed popping up. For vanilla armor replacers - you may want to take a look at book of BHUNP: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/44784?tab=files Massive variety of mostly mashed up vanilla assets. Mod is incredible as itself - has proper leveled integration, replaces quest rewards, proper crafting recipes and so on, but for your purposes - colleciton is so large that its assets can be arranged into a progression from full converage proper armor to barely there bikini armor. Not exacly "damaged", but can serve as such. As for assets designed to look as damaged version - there arent many. NINI stuff is the obvious choice that comes to mind. I dont think modeling assets from scratch is an option, partly - because there is so much content allready out there for skyrim. But mostly, because even for vanilla skyrim alone you're talking thousands of men-hours.

I've been thinking of putting together some bodyslide files for existing bikini armor setups like that or tAWoBA. I've just been focused on setting up the plugin for handling vanilla outfits for now. 2 copies of every outfit is a lot when each pre-enchanted armor/robe has its own record.
