Emily
How to modify and create additional add-on properly to Bravil underground? Emily tried to rename and re-color some of the NPC actor, but when she save it, some of the Lst bravil underground Quest dialogs suddenly broke. Link to comment
gregathit
I don't know that you can mess with NPC's and not break their dialogue. If you can, I don't know how either. You can always just make an alternate version of Bravil Underground for whatever look you are going for. I don't claim any ownership of the plugin, I just translated it. Link to comment
JSmith20142
You should be able to rename the NPCs as long as you don't change their editor IDs. For example, the bartender in the Silver Vine is xLSTBarOwner and his name is HanPL. You can change 'HanPL' to whatever you like - as the translators evidently did - but you cannot change xLSTBarOwner without editing all the relevant dialog topics and scripts, or you'll break things. Similarly, you should not change their race, sex or class, as these are also parameters that can be encoded in the dialogs. Link to comment
Emily
Nope. Even Changing the actor name break the mod upon saving. All she need is to revamp the trainer for better looking. (Cuz pinky is less than appetizing.) There are also plenty of renaming that she need to do on the NPC. Since playing sword and magic RPG with common 21.st century name like: tony, Jethro, jack, John, ralph, Beverly. is a bit contradictory. Ussually we just open OBSE-CS then tweak the NPC name, complexion then save. It didn't work, where it should have worked since emily don't touch any of the dialog or any references that would disrupt any quest dialog. Link to comment
Uriel
I'm usually tes4edit'ing all i want in such cases. BTW, i've got that "LST-EURN.esp" from...somewhere(hf maybe?), with BU faces based on MBP 2ch-Ed resources(animeish, if i remember correctly. And might be female only, not sure). Might be a little outdated already, i left Oblivion quite a long time ago, but it should be usable after some tes4edit fixes. Link to comment
JSmith20142
Emily, can you give me an example of an NPC whose dialog doesn't work if you change the name? The few I've looked at use the editor ID; they don't care about the name. Of course, there's some edtra editing to tidy things up - 'What ... you think I am going to hold your hand? Get your sorry butt over to the tavern and see HanPL for work!' will seem a bit strange if the bartender is no longer called HanPL - but the quest is looking for xLSTBarOwner, and doesn't care what his name is. What version of the CS Extender are you using? Link to comment
Emily
Umn, this is embarrassing. Emily doesn't use a CS extender, just normal CS linked to OBSE. Which CSextender that we used in general? Link to comment
gregathit
http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/36370//? I recommend using version 51 if you still are using OBSE v20. The latest version of the CSE requires you to use the beta OBSE version. Link to comment
JSmith20142
Emily, the regular CS can't manage scripts that have been compiled with the CS extender. That's what's breaking your altered mod - I suspected as much, which was why I asked And the latest version of the CSE is really, really nice. Link to comment
Emily
alright. Let's try. Hope it works. Link to comment
