Hi there.

I would like to show you the new project im working on.

Roundscape Adorevia a fantasy 2D RPG mostly created

by Hentai-Foundry Users. We have bunch of awesome artists,

a really experienced Storywriter and the motivation to create

an awesome game.

On Offbeatr u find two kinds of games. Text based games

like TiTs from Fenoxo (Corruption of Champions) or games

like visual Games like Pocket Pussies who aren't that hardcore

as CoC. We try to create a game where every erotic scene

is accompanied by high quality drawings of famous artists,

with real gameplay which includes exploration, conversations

and combat.

Looks interesting, but really they don't go into enough detail. A lot of it is just typical 'lots of words, little actually said' sales pitch that would apply to 99% of the RPGs in development at any given time.

What i want to know is how the erotic elements are going to be handled; are we talking a Dance with Rogues level of serious world building, some of the better RPGmaker games that blend a serious world with a sexual tilt, or are we talking Whorecraft levels where the world is built up by sex maniacs to the point it can't and isn't intended to be taken seriously? I'd really only want to play an MMO that is the middle ground, since its too much to hope for the former. I just couldn't enjoy an MMO that was too 'whacky', not to roleplay properly. A certain level of maturity is required, and i've seen a lot of the art of Hentai-Foundry, and for every serious artist there are twenty 'futa sluts! bukkaki everywhere!' style artists.

I'm not a big fan of smut for smuts sake. So, the idea of orgies and sex mechanics with other random players in the Inn doesn't really interest me. The idea of NPCs ravaging my character if I fight badly does, the ability to grab and be grabbed by other players and ravaged. (That was something, for all its one-man-made cheap crappiness, Sociolotron did well... and then messed up thanks to the vocal carebear players.) The idea of quest-lines with sex as an option to proceed, but not the only one, and so forth. 'Screw 10 villagers, and come back with their semen' is amusingly the terrible mental image I get when I think of sex MMO. The context of a sexual encounter, the why, is whats important to me. Much more so than sprites bumping uglies in varied animations.

I also want to know why Pregnancy, which should be a core mechanic, is shoved fairly high up the donation brackets. I understand the claim of a lot of hard work required, but core mechanics don't generally go into the 'get a digital art book' section.

I may donate if we get a clearer look at the plans, but right now i'm sceptical.

They're using RPG maker, so it's not an MMO.

If one reads between the lines (and all the comments, since neither the main description nor the update specifies), there will be rape-on-lose and probably rape-on-win (the evil playstyle rape question on the published poll results).

Beyond that, yeah, no telling what the intended tone is - the kind of "woo, check this out, we have sex! And tits! Orgy time!" cr... thing western ero seems to resort to way too often or something more mature (ADWR is a good example, so are many eroge)... but that story and decisions nearly beat out erotic scenes in the poll gives me some hope.

Ex-fucking-actly. Perfectly said. I was saying something similar to someone else, going over it. It has the potential to be something that could be absolutely amazing. I want to be optimistic about it. Yet I find I have to remain a bit pessimistic as well. I really want to hear them describe exactly what the plan is for the tone of the sex content. All that I really see being said so far is "We will have sex. Something for everyone. Honest."

And a side note... I have to admit, things like this description make me wary. Though I'm open to the idea that such a short sample of a description could mean much less than I make it out to.

The continent of Adorevia, at first glance, is a peaceful and geographically diverse land, populated by an eclectic exotic mix of races and creatures, ranging from the beautiful – but deadly – Sirens that roam the open coasts; to the futanari race of the Nexilim, whose very culture revolves around their constant lustful needs.

So... just a bunch of sexy women enemies then... great... that may be some people's things of course. And I can certainly see the appeal with a gender selection. Guess we will just have to see. I'm torn on the art too. It's done in a style that looks quite visually pleasing. But yeah, like you pointed out. It seems like although it's not swinging all the way toward the "futa sluts! bukkaki everywhere!" style... it's leaning, just a little bit, in that direction. The ahegao face doesn't help things, hah. Personal hatred of that.

But they made their goal, and I'm happy for them. So, now we just wait and see.

Yeah, on their FAQs, it clearly says "no zoophilia" , that tells me all I need to know, they won't be getting a single cent from me.
