---nikoli Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 A couple of years ago I started to attempt to convert Fallout 3's centaurs to be something a little more appealing using Nexus's Muscle Girl Project - 14508 and one of the hairs from Saram's Hair to make a female supermutant. It didn't work right away and I eventually forgot about it. Now I'm back to playing Fallout 3 and would really like this to work. Everything looked fine in Blender and Nifscope but when it came to getting the meshes and textures ingame the skin texture went bizarre and the hair was missing. Now I know what this usually means but everything appears to be directed to the proper place and I am currently at a loss as to what to do next. I am a novice at best with Blender, so I might be missing something obvious. If someone can help me get this to work I would be eternally grateful. The attached file 'should' have everything needed to make it work ingame such as it is.
Zeisan Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I tinkered with it a little, was able to get the skin to not be all light trails, but now its just black. I just removed the stencil property. Still can't get the hair to show up. I'll keep working. Edit: I looked at them in GECK, and I saw that the hair wasn't checked in the body part list. I'm still working on getting the skin to look right. Still trying to get it right, the skin is just black, maybe that's my computer. I'll keep working at it.
Loogie Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I'm impressed. Do you have multiple heads or are you at that point in the process yet?
Zeisan Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I got the hair to show up, doesn't look right. It's gray instead of blonde. I had to import the hair into blender and rotate it 90 degrees for it to sit right. The skin looks fine in 3rd person, but when going to 1st person it goes black. I opened the two dds files into gimp without mipmaps, exported them with mipmaps and I think that's why it works in 3rd person. I might have to do the same with the _sk.dds and see if that does anything for 1st person. I might also try to give the body BNB, not sure on that one yet.
---nikoli Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 I too, am impressed. I was thinking though, what I was attempting to do is convert a creature base into a npc base, which I believe is causing most of the problems. When I was piecing it together I thought combining all the textures into one dds image would be easier, but that might be causing problems. Only working in third person wouldn't be an issue seeing as it's not a playable character. I still haven't figured out how to slow them down yet and may need to reconfigure their AI a bit so they aren't quite so cowardly Keep me updated with any progress you make.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 How did I miss this file... I need to come over to this side of the world more often. Thank you, nikoli grimm. I hope to see this mod at it's final stage since I never liked centuars. They are the most worthless abomination in the Fallout realm.
