DD-themed Hall for Legacy of the Dragonborn

Picked up LotD for the first time about a couple weeks ago and have been blow away by how it augments existing content and pushes me to do as much content as possible. So I got to thinking how neat it would be to create a hub for collecting trophies, unique items, and full sets of items from DD mods. I know at first glance it might seem like the intersection between players who enjoy obsessive hoarding and players who enjoy DD mods might be pretty small, but this is internet. There's got to be dozens of us!

I asked around on Reddit about LotD addons and Hall of Forgotten provides a good example of how to implement something like this. The biggest challenge for me on this project will be making cells, as I don't have any experience with it. My hope is that these cells will be simple enough that I can pick it up as a I go along using monkey-see-monkey-do and tutorials.

Minimal viable product for initial release will be a Hall of the Devious for the DD framework items and related mods. I can see a lot of issues cropping up with mannequins, so the devices will just be shown in displays using the ground version of the devices.

List of optional mods I'm considering supporting: Cursed Loot, Laura's Bondage Shop, S.L.U.T.S., The Facility. I know Captured Dreams is RIP but it feels wrong to ignore it given how much influence it had on the DD mods which came after it. (Maybe include support as easter egg and put it in a locked or hidden room?)

After MVP is complete and released I want to work on an addon that adds a side-hall for DD Contraptions. My plan for this is to create a hall containing many display cases such as this one from Hall of the Forgotten (hopefully can get permission, if not can probably jury rig something that works by misusing various other assets cleverly). When you deposit a piece of furniture in the museum it will show up as a tiny 1/10 scale model in one of the display cases. Somewhere in the hall will be a hidden panel or room with a button corresponding to each of the display cases. If the player actives one of the buttons they are teleported into a cell which is a 10x scaled up version of the base hall with the player standing inside the corresponding display case next to a normal sized and interactable version of the furniture, giving the illusion that the player has been shrunk down to 1/10 size. To exit there will be a magical rune the player can activate to teleport out. It would be neat to populate both rooms with patron NPCs wandering around, using 10x scaled NPCs in the fake big room, however I'm not sure that's technically feasible. I imagine weird stuff starts happening with things such as nav meshes, head-tracking, and animations if the actor scale is too extreme.

List of optional mods I'm considering supporting: DM3 (I know DD isn't a dependency for it, but it really fits the theme of this hall), ajelloacc's DM3 ports of RZAA and PRJ furniture (These have a much wider range of sizes that might not fit the display case even at 1/10 scale, so might need to make the display versions smaller than 1/10 and make fake rooms bigger than 10x? Maybe design the layout so that none of the display cases have line of sight to each other and re-use the same 3 rooms but change the enabled furniture depending on the button pressed?)

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Cloned the Armory cell and its wings from LotD to use as a base for the room, cleaned out out all the displays, replaced the tree with a nice Diabella statue, and added a copy of the DD art book in Hall of Heroes that acts as a door connecting to the new cell. Picked out and duplicated various statics for displaying the various devices for ease of access. The Hall of the Forgotten dev pointed me to the resource they used, which should come in hand.

I copied all the DDi and DDe devices into a spreadsheet so I could start planning out the various collections and... *whistle* 879 devices (not counting the dozen or so unused devices in DDi). I knew there were a lot, but I always assumed it was like a third of that. Might have been true once I suppose, but that was many versions ago. Might want to consider narrowing the number of devices supported by the displays. Excluding ropes and the more exotic colors might be a good way to start. Stick with the classic red, white, and black gear in leather and ebonite maybe?

If I try and focus all my time into this I'll burn out and this will never be finished. I really want this mod to exist however, so instead I'll try to put smaller amounts of time into it on a regular basis. Don't expect an imminent release.

Honestly I never thought of running Sexlab and LotD stuff together before (mostly thanks to Oldrim and it's script issues), but I suppose if there was any horny mod that'd require it, it'd be Devious Devices and it's sister mods. A sub display for Cursed Loot's specific quest items would be neat somewhere along the line, though I suppose a bigger question would be where to place the door to it. Maybe linked to the player house, or the Hall of Secrets?

I've had this exact same thought before, I'd love to see a Hall of Bondage or something similar. Unfortunately I have no modding skill of my own, so it's great to see someone else had the same idea!

I had wanted something like this myself, I ended up just making an empty room with various display pillars. There aren't any displays in the room, I had planned to use slaves from Paradise Halls as the displays and have Devious Devices, I'll Take the Display Model, and Pama Deadly Furniture displayed on/with them.

Currently its a bit of a challenge to get anything setup properly and aligned but its possible.
The Showroom is at the end of the East Exhibit Halls. For now at least.
